279838 Dryer Heating Element

Easy to install and cheap fix to get dryer back up and running. Second one I've purchased over the yrs and my dryer just keeps on going. Love these elements and their affordability

Update: After 18 months the dryer stopped heating. I removed this heater and found the upper heating coils had sagged so badly that they had shorted out to the next lower coils. It did this on both sides. A bit of the upper coil that had welded itself to the next coil when it shorted out. Also, coils on both sides had sagged and deformed inward, very close to shorting out to the metal frame. Many of the ceramic standoff elements were broken and loose. If you're already using this item, recommend letting the dryer cool down between loads so it's less likely to short out and replace with a better quality heater ASAP. Initial review: Dryer stopped heating. Opened the back, checked fuses and thermostats all ok. Removed 2 screws and 3 wire clips to remove old heater unit and immediately spotted where heater wire broke. Temporary fix by attaching broken ends together (see YouTube) lasted 2 days, long enough for this replacement to arrive. Easy to swap in new heater. *** Be sure to clean out all lint, especially from vent hose and wall vent but also inside the dryer. Dryer lint catching fire is the #1 cause of house fires in US. CLEAN OUT ALL LINT AND EXHAUST VENTS. ***

These work and are easy to install, but I am only getting about 6 months out of them. Still cheaper than a new dryer by a long shot, but they seem to fail fast. I have no issues with the vent line being blocked or other issues which might cause them to fail early, but they do. Otherwise they work fine.

This item was a perfect fit for an older model Cabrio dryer. We replaced the element ourselves instead of calling for professional service. It was easy to install and the price was very reasonable.

i just purchased this product about a week, it works but after after 1 week the coil broke and this is what happened. This is the second time I bought this this year. the first one last about 3 months but the second one one just last over a week. Quality is very very bad
