LAKE CHAMPLAIN CHOCOLATES 5 Star Peanut Bar, 1.8 OZ

I'm slightly embarrassed to say I've developed an addiction to these. Only the peanut butter blocks. I had a craving for chocolate & peanut butter 24 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, and the price was 1/2 of what it is now. I purchased them so often at the same time of day, the cashier knew me & called me 5 Starr. One day she said she just HAD to see what the deal was, so we shared one at the register. The next time I came in, she had words for me. She had become addicted too! I had an opportunity to go to Vermont last fall and made sure I stopped by the Lake Champlain chocolate shop in Stowe, where I stocked up. Pro tip: hold in your hand or pocket for a few minutes to slightly soften. The perfectly ratio of milk chocolate, with creamy, luscious peanut butter will delight your taste buds, and the surprise pop of crispies will give a little texture to balance. And don't blame me. I warned you of the call of the 5 Starr siren...

This is too expensive for a candy bar but if it's on sale I will buy it because it tastes great!

Wowwwww! This is by far, THE BEST chocolate bar I've ever had. But geeze, it is expensive. It's a nice little splurge sometimes. Absolutely divine.

These are excellent chocolates - you could really taste the quality. Why did my Whole Foods remove them?

I absolutely adore lake Champlain peanut five Star bar! This is the most delicious chocolate peanut butter combination I have ever had. This rivals independent candy stores. The flavor is so delicious without being overly sweet, the chocolate is soft and tasty, and the peanut butter cream interior is unbeaten. My only criticism is the cost, but they really are that good where you just kind of suck it up because of how amazing the product is. I may or may not spend like $25 a month on these things.

This bar is one of my guilty pleasures - good quality milk chocolate, satisfying peanut butter filling, whole peanuts and crispies to break up textural monotony. Milk chocolate and peanut butter is one of my favorite pairings, and this is one of the better executions in terms of balance and ingredient quality. However, for the price, it is a bit small (very thick but about a third the size of a standard full size bar), and it is very sweet and rich. I have a hard time eating it all in one sitting, but it's awkward to save for another treat.

This chocolate is delicious. The peanut version is the only one that I love, so I still buy it. Pricey, but worth it.
