Perfect solution for enrichment or fast eaters
I have a cat that recently hit his milestone of one year old, and he's been eat a whole lot very fast. We got this bowl as a means to slow down his fast eating and it definately helps. We put dry food and wet food in the feeder and it works great. The only down side is some areas are impossible for to get food out of, like the eyes or anywhere near them so we usually avoid putting food in there. Pretty easy to clean, you just let it soak in water and the food comes out (which you should be cleaning your cats bowls after every meal anyways). Overall, 9/10. Only improvement is probably fixing those hard to reach areas.

Too Big and Moves While Cat Eats
Cons: large, not aesthetically pleasing, moves around when cat tries to eatPros: does help my cat eat slower, feels sturdy (not cheap plastic)Had to get my cat this slow eater bowl because she eats way too fast and throws up. I bought this specific heavier one with hopes my cat wouldn't be able move it around while eating, however she is able to, and it wakes me up every night. It is waaaay too large, takes up a lot of room, and is not aesthetically pleasing. Would I recommend it? Eh. If the bowl is in another room where you cannot hear it, and you don't mind the cat moving the bowl around then sure. 3/5 because it does the job, but it comes with problems. I am currently trying to look for another bowl mostly because it moves around a lot, and I live in a studio so I hear everything my cat does.

Took a couple days but cat got the hang of it
The media could not be loaded. The first day or two, Eddie was trying to shove his face into the ridges of the bowl and reach the food with his mouth, but he quickly learned that wouldn’t get him fed. He was annoyed and confused by the bowl and meowed for his normal dish back. I was a little worried that maybe the puzzle feeder wouldn’t catch on, but decided to give it a few more days and see if the cat got the hang of it.On the afternoon of day 2 with the puzzle bowl, he started experimenting with using his paws to get the food out onto the floor where he could then eat it easily. Although he’s still not thrilled about how much extra effort it takes, it has certainly slowed him down and completely prevented the scarf and barf habit. It’s enabled us to leave food out all the time for him to graze when he’s hungry, rather than doing a bunch of tiny servings multiple times throughout the day.As you can see from my video, the bowl does slide from him pawing the food out. We got a silicone mat thinking that would help and it doesn’t. Like everyone else said, I wish there were rubber stoppers on the bottom. But that’s a small price to pay to not have to pick up cat vomit every day! Overall I’m happy with this product and will recommend to friends and family with scarf & barf problems.

Great slow feeder but brittle
The cats really like this feeder. While it is large, it is sturdy and we appreciate that it is made of non-toxic materials. We haven't had the feeder very long but it seems to have helped slow our gobblers down while providing mental stimulation.I took off one star because I quickly discovered the feeder was more brittle than I had expected. I accidentally dropped it after removing it from the box. It hit my tile floor and cracked, with parts of the edge breaking off. Luckily the feeding area remained intact so I sanded off the rough edges before washing it. The altered shape doesn't seem to bother the cats.

Simply Pets Slow Feed Cat Blow Review
Bought this bowl for my cat who often regurgitates her food. Thought slowing her down might help. She sometimes regurgitates on purpose in order to get rid of swallowed fur (not your classic fur ball, I could only wish). She is eating wet food only, per Vet's recommendation. The bowl is sturdy, maybe a little too firm for little cat teeth. We are going through a transition phase where I give her some of the food in the Slow Feed Cat Bowl and some smeared over a large plate. She starting eating out of the Slow Feed Cat Bowl the first time we used it and has eaten out of it during every feeding. The ridges in the Simply Pets Slow Feed Cat Bowl are quite tall making it difficult for the cat to get all the wet food that is in-between the ridges, so there is alway food left behind. The tall ridges also makes it difficult to clean and dry the bowl. Have not been able to find a dish washing brush with long enough bristles to get down between the ridges. It is also difficult to dry both the top and the bottom of the bowl. Even though I have very long, thin finger there are many place that are impossible to get to, especially on the bottom side.Perhaps a version of this bowl with shorter ridges might work better for cats eating wet food and people cleaning the bowl.Update: My cat has completely transitioned to the Simple Pets Slow Feed Cat Bowl. It does slow her down, some. She has had one regurgitation episode since the transition. Don't give her more that 1.5 oz at a time now. Found that using a stiff toothbrush helps with cleaning in-between the ridges. I use a chopstick and paper towel to dry all the tight places and crevices on the bottom.UPDATE: Cat has been using the Simple Pets Slow Feeder Cat Bowl of about 6 months now and it is working well. I have 2 of them now. Am able to put out 3.5 ounces of food twice a day instead of 1.5 ounce servicing 4 or 5 times a day. Did have a problem with one of the bowls. It developed cracks which could leak and possible injure the cats tongue. Reached out to Simple Pets via Amazon website. Their representative responded via email and sent me a replacement bowl quickly. She was very professional and demonstrated a high level of customer support.

Puzzled
Both of my cats are afraid of this, and won't eat from it.

Bigger than expected but the cats love it.
My cats are treating these feeders like a new fun activity. No more wolfing down their meals.

Decent slow feeder
I bought this for my cat who tends to eat too fast. The first day, he was having a hard time figuring it out because his paws are too big to fit in the crevices for him to access the food. He finally figured it out and does slow done some. Unfortunately if you it too much food at once, the cat can still go pretty fast and throw up afterwards.

The cats love eating from this.
One of my cats used to gobble his food (from an ordinary cat bowl) down and then, often, throw up soon after because he’d eaten too fast. This cat maze feeder stopped this happening. I introduced it slowly but putting a little dried food in the front of the maze where the food was easy to hook out and some food in the ordinary bowl next to it. When he’d finished the ordinary bowl he had a go at the maze. I then gradually put less food in his ordinary bowl and more in the maze. He, ( and my other cat who also has her own maze) took to the maze very well. If you use them for dry food they don’t really get dirty. I ,therefore, only clean them occasionally. I fill them with washing up water and brush them with a pastry brush. I then rinse them and leave them upside down to dry overnight. They are brilliant and sturdy. I’m also really pleased that they are made of bamboo and not plastic. They feel like very sturdy plastic.A great buy.

Cat took to this within a day - now slows down feeding very well
Our cat initially was confused by this, as he tried to retrieve the foot with his mouth.I am not sure it was us demonstrating to the cat that he can flick the food out, or whether he found that out himself, but he now successfully uses his paws to flick the food out from within the ridges and seems happy enough. Our cat was eating a full days dried food within 5 minutes - then complaining that he wanted food during the rest of the day. This bowl seems to slow his feeding down enough, that there is food left in the bowl during the day that he can come back to and fish out when he wants it - so less complaining, which is good.

Not for cats!
I never realised how large this dish actually is, it’s like a dinner plate, in fact possibly wider! It is extremely good quality and very well made and I think for a dog that has a long tongue it would be ideal. The description however said it was for small animals and there’s even a picture of a cat using it. However, both my 8 yr old cat and 5 month old kitten could not use it! They are both food fiends but gave up trying to use it! For starters the bowl has no grips underneath so skids around everywhere when they are trying to eat from it. Due to how large the dish is, as are the obstacles/patterns, it is impossible for a cat to get their nose or small tongue in to get the food out (unless you fill it to the brim which kind of defeats the point and could also lead to over feeding!). My 8 yr old cat managed to use her paws to flick a few of the crunchies out but otherwise was unable to eat the food directly.I think it’s a great quality item and definitely worth the money however it’s just marketed at the wrong animal group. If you have a dog, buy it! If you have a cat, avoid it!

Good bowl, consider cat size
My greedy little fur ball was eating so fast each morning she was making herself vomit. So we were looking for a bowl that would slow her down. This did indeed slow her down, unfortunately completely. She's very little being half British Shorthair and half Siamese and she was having to reach a paw in to drag the food out so she could eat it. For a bigger cat than our mini mistress this would be perfect. Bit hard to clean but absolutely the way to slow an animal eating... Unless they're too small of course

Persevere: it takes a while to get used to
Cat now loves this although deeply unhappy with it to begin with (i.e. the effort involved compared to just inhaling food from a conventional bowl). Keeps her busy for hours extracting the last crumb from the corners. It could do with something like rubber segs on the base to stop it being dragged all over the floor (never quite sure where I'm going to find it, I don't recommend walking round in bare feet without lights when your cat has one of these) and I don't think it works particularly well for wet food.
