Great value
These really are all purpose, I used it on the bike when installing a new intake manifold, and used them on the pot when cleaning the bottom of the pans. Really good value for the amount you get, and how long they last.

Great product. Must have for scrubing dishes.
We used this Scotch-Brite Pad at the manufacturing facility where I worked for 20 years. We used it as an alternative to sand paper for removing rust and various other stains and debris from the metal products we produced. I always thought they may work well in place of "Brillo Pads" or Steel Wool pads. One day I decided to look this up on Amazon and was surprised to find them for a very reasonable price. I ordered a box of 20 for around $23.00. This product, if you will, is the bomb. It works better than steel wool with a little Dawn dishwashing liquid and last longer to scrub dried on food from kitchen plates and utensils. As I mentioned there or 20 pads in a box and they measure approximately nine inches by six inches. I cut mine with scissors to measure 3 inches by 6 inches, This gives me 60 pads at a cost of about $0.38 cents each. We cut some of those in half to make a 3 inch by 3 inch pads. The 3 X 3 is what we call the "Nasty" pad for dried on food and it's easy to identify the "Nasty" pad from what we call the "Clean" pad, 6 X 6. I'm a stickler for clean dishes and run my dishes under hot water with one of the pads to remove any caked on food or foreign debris before loading into the dishwasher. Okay I know... you may think I have a suck a$$ dishwasher but I don't. I just don't want to clog the screen in the bottom of my $1000.00 dishwasher with dried on food crap. Kind of like the Cascade Platinum Dishwashing Detergent commercial you may have seen with the little girl that says "My Mom washes the dishes BEFORE she puts them in the dishwasher, So.. What does the dishwasher do?" Anyway, not only will this take the place of your Brillo Pad and not rust, it will clean counter tops, Make aluminum and stainless steel pots look like new again, and when old, will scrub linoleum floors like no bodies business. Keep in mind, this product WILL scratch some surfaces, non stick pans for example, just like sandpaper. Works great for cleaning potatoes before baking. Give it a try but be careful on certain surfaces. I recommend this product and have ordered three times.

Perfect grit
As an aircraft mechanic I consider Scotch-Brite a tool. When cleaning and prepping aluminum, removal of corrosion and even for paint removal to scrubbing my hands to get deep black grease off because it will take off the top dead layer. Here is what happened when I started using it at home. First of all, this will scratch most surfaces, (micro scratches) especially when brand new. I cut the pads in half. Light pressure with a wetted with some dawn soap for cleaning the inside of microwave, baked on food in the oven etc. the great thing about it is when it gets used to a point it is softer, unlike the green Scotch-brite you find in the store it still has the cleaning strength when USED and softer but does not scratch as bad. When it gets to this point I use it everywhere, In the kitchen I use it to wash dishes: light pressure because it will still scratch flatware. I have a pad in the bathtub, under my foot a quick wipe of the tub after showering will keep the film created from all the products we use such as deodorant, hair products, soaps etc that we all call soap scum and hard water deposits. it is great for cleaning the toilet and sink as well. Just uses common sense because it will still put light scratches on the faucet surfaces if not used correctly. I will not use it dry or without soap for household tasks but I have a pad available just about everywhere, I even use it to wash potatoes and vegetables. Like I said, this is not like the green you can buy in stores, it keeps its cleaning strength long after most people would throw it away, this is the point it is best inside the house. It is east to clean out, it dries quickly so it will not mold easily. I use the newer pads for cleaning the wheel-wells and tires of cars and trucks but do not use it on the wheels, painted surfaces, glass, plastic because you will ruin them. The uses are endless?

Red color bleeds
The red bleeds off whether they're wet or dry. Otherwise, good scrubby type product.

Excellent aggressive scotch Brite
Blue - least aggressive, won’t scratch most surfaces.Green - more aggressive, will scratch surfaces and removes more material.Red - most aggressive. Similar to steel wool. Guaranteed to scratch surfaces like metal and remove material.Used red to clean up aluminum wheels before I repaired and they cleaned up great. Removed rust and heavy dirt, brake dust, corrosion.

The cheat code for cleaning
I used these while cleaning an engine in preparation for rebuild. They last forever (FOR-EVER-ER), scrubbing the whole engine didn’t use even 1 whole pad. I cut them into pieces roughly 2”x3”, and didn’t through them away until I saw little bits coming off them. Even then they still effectively scrubbed, I just didn’t want the bits left behind.Besides the engine and components I’ve used them to scrub heavily burned dishes, grills, brighten up copper, prep mettle for welding. All kinds of stuff, these are amazing.Do be careful when scrubbing things with a delicate finish (or don’t use these at all), they REALLY scrub, they’ll take the finish right off if your not careful.
