Pennington Smart Seed Sun and Shade Tall Fescue Grass Seed Mix for Southern Lawns 7 lb

It only took about 8-10 days to start seeing grass sprout up. Its been a little over a month now and my grass is thick and thriving. It's beautiful and I will be buying more of this seed for my Texas yard.

Grows well, fills in and spreads nicely. Very pleased with performance at this time. It is watered regularly to get established, next year will determine its sustainability when not watered as much

The grass is beautiful however took a month for about 25% germinationSeems pretty weed free. But requires a lot of patience and watering.

I was starting a "new lawn" after a year of hand pulling chickweed and then having the yard airated so felt confident choosing Pennington seed. It spread easily with my hand spreader and grew quickly - however, my green lush lawn is strangely 75% a fernlike groundcover and maybe 20% blades of grass and 5% broadleaf weeds??? I'm afraid to use a weed & feed or turfbuilder product before rough Texas summer as it will probably kill off the fluffy fernlike additive which will leave me with a sparse lawn. I guess I didn't understand the "mix" part of the description. I would not buy this again.

The seeds did not even begin to make roots to produce any grass at all and the bad part about then is that they just went into the ground and did not produce any grass at all. My money was wasted on seeds that did not work and yes I watered the yard regularly to try and boost growth, but nothing still. This item needs to be taken off the market, it is just robbery for us hard working individuals.

I love that the grass works in sun and shade, but especially the shady areas of my lawn where other grass has struggled. You do have to water it daily initially, but within 7 to 10 days the growth of the grass is noticeable.

Seed is doing great in both the sunny & shady areas of my yard in Dallas , Tx

None of the seeds have grown. A waste of money.
