I have to admit I am a Cuisinart fanatic and my reviews will reflect it because of the customer service and the overall quality but when it comes down to their cooking scissors this company has a problem pairing the right products to the right people, in this case this particular product has the metal hinge or the middle swivel part meaning there's no plastic that's going to crack over time even if you diligently Do not drop them or stick them in the dishwasher. They need to step up their game in the cooking scissors department and give more value Downstream and include these kind of scissors and their butcher blocks from basic to top. So I guess you're getting the complete 360 review on that just be scissors that Cuisinart provides and butcher blocks but this individually packaged item.

Too big to handle with ease, as in using for sewing scissors, which they aren't intended for anyway. Still awkward to use for smaller feminine hands for any purpose. Sharp enough to easily cut up cardboard boxes but rust and lose sharpness when cutting food (raw chicken, vegetables). Good at the reduced $12.00+ price for cutting tape, paper, opening packages, reducing carboard to size needed. They handle a bit stiff, but if you don't need to use them often, they can be very handy to take care of small jobs in paper & packaging dept. And the price is exactly right for those jobs. If you want to cut up food, use a knife & a cutting board. Works so much better than scissors. I include all scissors or shears in that statement, not just these.

I like the size of these scissors. I like that they are VERY sharp. It's 'on me' that I didn't pay attention to the fact that they do not come apart for cleaning. I'll be purchasing another pair of 'cooking' scissors - and these can do everything else. Good scissors - just not what I wanted.
