Cost-effective and it works!
This is the cheapest burn-in tool I can find other than repurposing one of my soldering irons. It is actually made by mohawk, the biggest company that makes burn-in sticks. Some of the reviews complain about the batteries going dead. I think that's to be expected out of a battery powered heating tool. When I do touch ups on location it's a lot easier than finding a place to plug in and hoping nobody trips on the cord. Just like soldering irons, the tip needs to be cleaned regularly.

Simple and melts sticks easily
I started doing a lot of wood working repairs and this has been super helpful. I love that it's battery operated, lightweight, portable and heats up within seconds. Makes melting burn-in sticks easy. I do not consider myself a professional and maybe there are better products out there but it has been easy to use in my opinion.

Works well, bought again
Worked well until battery change. Battery door connector tab broke off. Requested a return. In the interim ordered a replacement. Hoping for a refund from manuf.

Favorite for burn ins
This is easily my favorite handheld. The heat is great and I appreciate the extra safety feature three batteries. It lasts a very long time for the amount of hours I use it.

Burned out after 30 minutes
It drains alkaline batteries very quickly. I was not able to seal nail holes on 32 wooden stairsteps before the LED went dim and it stopped producing heat.It cannot work with NiMH rechargeables, because 3.6V is too low of a voltage, even for the LED (it needs 4.5V).After I replaced the original alkaline batteries with a new set of alkaline batteries, it burned out after about 10 minutes. So I was able to get only about 45 minutes of total work, before it burned out. I only pressed the button when I actually needed heat.Just to make sure it didn't automatically shut down due to overheating, I turned it off and let it cool for 30 minutes, but even after letting it cool down, the heater doesn't work anymore -- only the LED works.I'm returning it as defective.

Love It
Easy to use and worth the investment. Used it numerous times to do floor repairs with the Mohawk wax sticks. Great tool to keep your laminate floors looking great
