So, no issues with shipping, product received, packing etc. The reason for a low rating is the reel itself malfunctions. Not mechanically, so I assume it is a flaw in the design overall (or just this reel is weird, not sure which). What it does is occasionally, at random, the line start on the front outside of spool. It winds around the drag adjustment, resulting a twisted line unless you are watching the reel each time you cast and retrieve. Ends up in me having to cut the line and re-attach lure. has happened about 1 in 40 casts. So it is now on the bench as I don't think I can return it. :-(Never had a reel do this before, so no more Mr. Crappie reels for me.

Great value reel for panfish and crappie. I use these with small children for whom line management is tough. Some folks dont like hi-vis line but it helps kids keep lines uncrossed. It does, however, come pre-spooled with too much line, falling all over and making wind knots. Took about 30yds off and had much better results.
