I make my own pillows, as gifts and for personal use. This CertiPUR-US shredded memory foam is terrific. The product is consumer safe, and it worked out beautifully for the king sized pillow I created. It is super comfortable but supportive at the same time and feels much better than the shredded latex pillow I made awhile back. I used a silk pillow case with zipper to hold the foam stuffing. You can use cotton or whatever fabric desired, but the silk fabric allows the foam to move around a bit, which is helpful when adjusting it to the desired shape. Less friction. I used the entire 2.5 lbs of memory foam for one king pillow. You might want a flatter pillow, so you wouldn't need to use the complete bag. Then I added a thin waterproof second case and finally...another silk pillowcase for the outer cover. The result is a luxe, supremely comfy pillow, perfect for any Princess and the Pea who loves fine bedding.

My dog’s bed got really flat about a month after purchase, so I thought I’d try this out to give it more oomph. It’s great! The pillow is 32x21 inches, and I bought the 5lb bag of foam. It comes in a compressed sheet. It gets much fuller than I expected, and it filled the box it came in plus a full garbage bag as it expanded and settled (picture). I used the full box of foam and about 1/3 of the garbage bag. There was a slight “rubber” smell, but it wasn’t terrible and mostly went away after letting the foam rest overnight. The bed is so much fluffier and more comfortable now. My dog loves it. (She just lies on beds weird so that’s why she’s on the grey rim and not just the pillow itself.) She likes to burrow and move the pillow about to get comfy, and she’s still able to do that with the fuller pillow.

I bought this filling to refill a beanbag for my classroom. This poor beanbag is subjected to daily torture by 27 ten-year-olds, so I was hoping the memory foam would last longer than the styrofoam pellets. Out of all of the foams on Amazon, I chose this particular product because it does not contain any of the nasty chemicals commonly found in foam. I bought the 5 pound bag and I followed the directions by letting the foam expand and air out in a large bin before stuffing the beanbag. The foam did expand (and there was no smell at all!) to at least double its size, and it was fairly easy to hand stuff into the beanbag. The reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is that the foam squishes down whenever you sit on the beanbag. While the beanbag looks nice and fluffy and full, it still gets compacted down. I probably would have had better luck with 7.5 or 10 pounds of filling, but at that point I might as well use that money to buy a new beanbag. By the way--for those guessing how much filling a standard-sized beanbag needs--I kept the original, compacted styrofoam pellets in the bag and added all of the 5 pounds of foam. The beanbag is now about 80% full.

Really soft and an actual shredded foam. This foam is what you might find in those extremely soft stuffed animals that are on the market. I usually use chopped foam for my bed pillow yet I wanted to see how this one was. I had ordered also ordered another foam at the same time that stated it was shredded as well however when I received it I quickly noted it was more of a chopped foam. Luckily I had ordered this foam as well which I intermix with the other to make a two semi soft pillow for my bed. I don't know if it is because one of the foams was shredded and the other chopped that made the two, of same weight, seem significantly different in package size yet I do know that smaller bits can take up less space so I assume that this is the weight in which it stated on the label. I think if both bags where shredded and soft as this one is I would not like it as much due to the pillow being to soft for me. The intermixing of the two different foams worked well for what I like as a pillow.

So, I wanted my son's reading chair/bean bag chair more comfortable. Over time the polystyrene beans compress. Now I could have spent $40 and gotten one bag of polystyrene beads and it would have solved the problem and fluffed it enough that it wouldn't be so hard for me to get up from the chair. Instead I thought I would be a good idea to replace with memory foam for more comfort. Getting the polystyrene beads out was a stupid crazy idea and made the biggest mess. went through 4 vaccuum cleaner bags sucking up all the ones that fell out. Anyway, purchased 20 pounds of memory foam for about $120. it's all in the bean bag and my butt is still hitting the floor when I sit. I have another 20 pounds waiting to add to it. but I think it's going to need 40 more, and maybe even more still so I don't just sink to the floor. I need comfort AND support. So with enough foam this could be awesome. but you've really gotta get your hands in there and shove it into all the nooks and crannies. a little mess but not as bad as polystyrene. NOW, the problem is, this chair is HEAVY. I figure by the time I'm done there very well could be 80 pounds of memory foam in this thing. If I could change my mind I'd just deal w/ the polystyrene. Or make a mix of polystyrene and memory foam. So I'm going to need to order at least another 20-40 pounds of this stuff. And while comfortable, it's just been a way too expensive project. I fee like I could have bought another chair at this point.

I love this shredded foam. It works great, but does have the off putting smell of paint, like wet out of the can paint that is there. Otherwise, it is some pretty awesome stuff. I used it to fill our big Joe bean bag chairs that we had bought from Walmart. The existing beans, well they are the round ball styrofoam type and didn't last to long as an adequate filler. Bought the 10lbs bag setup, filled both with very little room to spare. They are full enough to hold their forms and support a full grown adult. Very comfy now as well and there is less sound when sittingb into the chairs.

this is enough filling to fill a throw pillow for your couch. dont buy this if you are trying to fill a bean bag

I found it didn't fluff up as much as I was expecting and there were some pieces that were kind of hard in it. There wasn't enough to fill the bean bag so i ordered more from another company and it was fluffier and softer foam.

I wanted to fill up my Adult Size Bean Bag. 100 bucks later and its still flat. I would need to purchase 3 more in order to fill my bean bag. Disappointed.
