My cat had to take new medicine & it was really upsetting her. I got the #5 size capsules, but they were a little too small to fit my cat's medicine dose from her vet. I then, ordered the size #4, & they were a perfect size to fit my cat's medicine with a bit of room to spare. The #5 & #4 look very similar in size, but if I had used the smaller #5 capsules, I would need to give my cat 2 capsules to fit her dose, & I didn't want to do that, so the #4 capsules are a perfect size!! My cat's favorite thing as a treat is cold salted butter. I know it's weird, but she loves butter more than anything. She only gets a little bit, stuck on a spoon, & she likes to lick it like a lollypop while it's still cold. The vet told me my cat's medicine would taste very bitter & that's when I thought of empty capsules, so that my cat doesn't have to taste the bitter pill. After crushing up her medicine dose & putting it inside the #4 capsule, I slice a very thin, small piece of butter, just enough to wrap it around the small #4 capsule. Then, once it is coated in a thin layer of butter, I tilt her head up a little, put the buttered capsule in her mouth & I hold her until she swallows the capsule with the butter on it. I always check her mouth, & make sure the capsule is gone. Since I have been doing this, she doesn't get so upset about taking her medicine. She will give me a mad look right before she swallows the capsule. Then, I let her lick the spoon that has a little left over butter on it. That's her favorite part & I think she knows she gets butter in exchange for taking her medicine. Once she is sure the butter is gone, she will want to eat breakfast or dinner, since she gets 2 doses every day. I believe the butter also helps her with occasional hairballs. Since it's slippery, it works better than that gooey stuff they sell for hairballs in cats. She really hates how that stuff tastes. I hope my cat knows I'm giving her the butter capsule because I am trying to make it a better experience for her, or not as bad, & also make it easier to swallow, & it tastes like butter, which she loves so much. I would highly recommend these gelatin capsules. The size #5 $9.99 & size #4 $6.99 was a big price difference, but I opted to keep the #5 capsules, just in case I need them for her, should her dose go down. I highly recommend this seller & these capsules are great for my cat. I know it makes it a better overall experience & I'm very happy these shipped out & arrived the next day!! This is absolutely perfect for (adult) cat medication! Our cat (large, adult, 13lb) needed some steroid pills once a day, and these gelcaps helped significantly. Our cat is quite clever, and will hide pills under his tongue and spit them out when we aren't looking. Considering we have to give him three pills a day, you can imagine how tedious this has become. Thankfully, these gel caps help immensely with that issue. His medication is slick and smooth, easily moved around in his mouth and hidden under a tongue. However, these gel caps start to stick a little bit the moment they get wet, and are too large to hide under his tongue - which means his only options are to swallow the pills! Combined with a pill-shooter (basically an small air tube / syringe that pops the pill directly into their mouth) pill time now takes less than a minute. Four stars instead of five because we recieved less than the full pill quantity. (Still more gel caps than we will ever need)

Perfect size for giving my cat his oral meds that he normally spits out.

My wife takes a medication that comes in tiny pink pills. The loss rate is high - they are easy to drop and hard to find. I ordered a package of these empty gelatine capsules (#4 size) and have been putting one pill in each capsule. I can usually install 4-5 pills in a minute, so I can do an entire bottle of 90 in about 15 min or so. There hasn't been a loss since I started. It's worth the few cents and short time it takes just to get rid of the frustration.
