Just take your time and it's no problem to install.
I installed these on a 1999 Civic. Overall, everything worked perfectly. The first thing (and this I think takes the most time) is to measure where you will install these. I first got under the car to look at the bumper and see where the steel beams were, the gas tank, and things like that to make sure I wasn't going to hit anything by accident, and to make sure I would be able to reach my hands up behind the bumper to pull the cables along after drilling the holes. In my case, the metal beam is in the middle of the bumper, so I needed to make sure I was in the Top 3 inches of the bumper for the sensors to clear. measuring from the ground, that put them 22 inches above the ground, which from what I read is a reasonable height to put them (I believe between 18-25 inches was what I read was recommnended. I think the main problem is if you are too low you will pick up the ground and it will just beep all the time). The next thing was to measure and keep them about 18 inches apart from each other but centered on the car so it doesn't look sloppy. After that I found the reverse light, traced the wires back to an area that was easy to attach the power to, and ran the power and ground to the reverse. Then I tested all the sensors before drilling the holes by simply taping them to the back of the car on the bumper and putting it in reverse to see if it works. Which they did. So then I soldered the wires to make sure they didn't come loose, drilled the holes, pulled out the trunk carpet on the side to tuck everything back there, and hooked everything up. In my case, I had no interest in the little distance sensor screen, I just needed to hear the sound, so I simply taped the screen in the trunk high enough and close to the back of the back seat so that I can hear it clearly when backing up. Works very well. First beep is about 5 feet, faster beeps at 3 feet, solid at about 1 foot . Works great. Very happy. Besides the drill , I needed the soldering iron, some tape, and a flat head screwdriver to install. Really nice.
