I received two boxes of 04 cones before they finally sent the 05 cones that I originally ordered. I use them to operate my kiln. Now I am up and running again.

I've used this brand, and type....type being the cones vs bars....for years. I much prefer the cones over the bars since I can control variations in my firing and can't with the bars. By this I mean if I need just a few degrees hotter or cooler than the cones fire at the correct position then I can move the cone over one direction or the other and it changes the temperature just that little bit to get the outcome I need for my workThis is the best product on the market for firing a cone controlled kiln in my opinion. You can never go wrong with Orton pyrometric cones.

The cones are connected and need to be separated. I needed to separate them and broke several. Other than that the product is just what i ordered.

I was in a bind because my local ceramics shop was out of my firing cones. These arrived quickly and in great shape. Pairs are stuck together but they easily came apart.

These bar are stuck together and when you try to break them apart the bare break in half the wrong way. Don’t waste your money.

Orton small cones are just the right size but a lot of them are difficult to break. They’ve started making the cones in twos and twisting some of them are easy to separate but others are almost impossible to separate. So, your 50 really becomes a lot less and god help you if you have arthritis!

Worked great and shut off my kiln right at temp and my pieces came out perfect
