Q: I've never purchased weave poles, do these pull out all the way straight too?

Yes! The picture doesn't show it, but they do straighten out to a line of 6 poles. I would highly recommend them after training the 2x2 method because you can easily open them up a bit (like how they are shown in the picture).

Q: Do the short supporting bars rotate to the other side? In the picture, these bars are on the wrong side. If a dog enters from the left, he should not be crossing a supporting bar as he turns to the right to go through the next opening in the weaves.

Yes the bars will rotate to either side. You are correct about the picture. It shows it set it up with the support bars on the wrong side. The support bars should be on the side where the dog is not running. So as the dog approaches the first weave pole, the dog should go counter clock wise. The base bar should be heading to the left.

I haven’t seen the pawhut version. If it looks just like this one it may be the same product licensed to a different seller. The ones shown are really kind of fragile and easy to break if not handled carefully when pulling the poles out.

Q: What is the outside diameter of the upright stubs that the poles fit on? What is the diameter of the poles?

The diameter of the poles are approximately 1 1/8" and the diameter of the stubs are 1 7/16"
