Great Little Nail Clipper!
Excellent (Made in Germany) small nail clipper. Little strength is needed for the "tough nails". Comes with nice little travel sheath. Highly recommended!

Shear magnificence! Best ever nail clippers!
I’ve used a lot of nail trimming hardware, but these are different. The cut sharpness is the key point that makes them different. They cut right through nails, and even through thicker nails. They are expensive, but all great things have a cost. I highly recommend them. I keep them in my pocket. They are not like any other nail clipper on the planet! Try them, you’ll like them.

Great Nail Clipper
I needed to replace my Wustoff nail clipper purchased 8 years ago. The edge was getting dull, making the clipper difficult to trim nails. The Solingen clipper looks exactly like the Wustoff clipper (no longer made), so I purchased it, and glad I did. The stainless steel edge is sharp, the clipper is comfortable to use to trim my nails on my hand and nails on my toes, even with my arthritic hands. The Solingen clipper is pricey, but worth it for a quality, well-made nail clipper. The clipper fits in the leather holder with the cutting edge up, so you need to be very careful when removing it from the holder.

Durable and High Quality
Bought these clippers for trimming fingernails only. The cutting edge is sharp and the edges seem to close all the way.Storage case is a nice addition. The clippers store in the case with the wide cutting edge the up position. There's enough of the clippers showing to put it in and pull it out by the sides. The case snaps shut and I've found that the clippers fit the easiest when you place the lever side towards the back of the case.I gave 4 out of 5 stars because I found the angle of the pivoting lever to be a little difficult to manage. It is hard to keep my thumb on the smooth, polished surface when I am adjusting the cutting edge around my fingernail. Maybe it should have less of an angle? or maybe there could be an additional small cushioned area where the circular imprint is?Overall, I am very pleased with the construction of these clippers and the top notch workmanship. Purchased these clippers in May 2023 and the case looks brand new and the clippers are still going strong.

Super bad quality control
Keeping in mind that this little clipper costs over $42, it is quite simply a rip-off. One side if the jaws does not close completely, so that side does not give a crisp clip but an annoying squish. (See image where light is visible on one side while the other side is fully closed.) Solingen quality? Not at all. The leather case is so tight it pulls, and the tab sticks out making it look like junk. (See image where the snap ball does not line up with the detent.) The narrowest part of the case passes over the widest part of the clipper jaws, so that the corners of the clipper jaws stick out. I am quite shocked that the Solingen name has come to this. I never thought I would say you are better off with any cheapo brands rather than this Solingen.

It works so well I will replace with the same
Sharp as the devil himself. And fantastic design to grip and operate. Never a weird angle I can’t get leverage on.

Clippers = excellent; case = joke
Received these today and thought I'd be real happy. Turns out, I'm just meh. The clippers appear to be very high quality and should work fine. Pretty much disappointed in the case that came with. As can be seen by the pictures, the case is nowhere near long enough to close with the clippers inside! With the clippers outside and the case flat, it _looks_ like it might fit, but whoever sized this forgot that the clippers have VOLUME that the case must hold! For $40 one would think they'd have figured this tiny little detail out. Guess not. Oh well. Another piece of garbage for the dump.....sigh.

You get what you pay for!
As I've gotten older I've really started to hate trimming my toenails. It finally occurred to me that, while I am no longer as lithe and limber as I once was, mmmmmaybe the fact I'm still using the same drugstore clipper I bought in 1985 has something to do with it. I own a nice set of Trim clippers, too, but the fingernail ones always felt too small and the larger toenail ones (both straight and curved) seemed to clamp on to the nail but not cut through cleanly. I always wound up with lopsided nails on my big toes or a snag on one corner where the nail split from being peeled instead of having been snipped through. They were finished in shiny chrome, too, which is tricky to hang on to if you're somewhere slightly humid. (In, say, a bathroom, where- nutty as it sounds- I tend to take care of such grooming tasks.) I stumbled upon a consumer site where an article was comparing toenail clippers. At first I thought it was kind of amusing that such things were the source of such scrutiny. About ten minutes later I wasn't laughing and had the FINOX in my Amazon cart. Well, they're TOOLS aren't they? Doesn't having the right tool for the job make everything easier? Yes and yes. These clippers are easy to hang on to both due to their comfortable shape and the matte finish. There is no struggle to apply enough force on the handle to make a cut. And they CUT. Not just bite or grab and hold the nail but CLEANLY INCISE. No more shaggy nail edges! (I happen to like the curved shape of the cutting edge; if you want a "straight across" clipper these might not be the model for you.) I found them easy to use on both fingernails (I have large hands) and toenails. These are the not inexpensive but they are worth the price. To echo other reviewers, these will probably be the last clippers I'll ever need to buy. The FINOX are the best I've ever used, hands (and feet) down.
