I'm so glad to find this old style. They are actually stronger on a wall because of the lower loop resting against the wall, providing more stability

Good, longer brass hook
Hook works well, all brass, no plastic. I recommend for a longer type hook, e.g., for hats and clothes.

Sturdy and easy to install
Sturdy and easy to install.My coat closet had some existing ones in black. I was looking to add a few more but black was not available a shame but the gold finish is holding up so far with regular use.

Threads do not grip
The product is nice looking but the threads are not wide enough to grip into the wood. One would not want to hang a heavy coat on this product.
