Q: It only seems to work on the butt area, where i can actually feel it with my hands. but on the back section i feel nothing. damaged unit?

I tried this one, returned it and tried the more expensive ones as well. Those also we’re returned. Great concept but it seems no one can make one that works properly every time it’s turned on and continues for as long as it’s turned on. They are either week from the start of effectiveness fades while they are on. Sweaty back wins again

Q: Is there anyway to have two cushions with one plug?

You would need to have an extender.

I just found something under the seat and hooked them to it. I just use them for stability.
