Great tool to have on hand

Must have to remove strainer covers
I have used one of these for many years to remove the AC strainer cover to clear grass etc. on my 1999 SeaRay Sundancer 40 ft boat. Well, I sold my boat and left the tool for the new owner. Our new 2004 SeaRay Sedan Bridge boat also has Groco sea strainers, so I’m repurchasing another tool. This is the perfect tool for that job. I would definitely recommend and buy again.

Works great - good tool
Didn’t have one of these before - great Tool to add to the boat - works better than anything I had before

Provides plenty of leverage
Pins fit my deck plates perfectly. The handle length provides good leverage for easy opening of the deck fills. Has a nice rough sand-cast feel to the bronze handles. The listing reports material as "plastic" but there was no plastic in the unit I received. Really solid.

Solid tool- hinge smallkine sloppy
This is a solid tool, although, the hinge is far sloppier than it should be. Better machine work would make for a more solid tool, less susceptible to slipping out of the deck plate holes causing little arcs of red to pulse rivulets of crimson across my boats deck in the setting sun.

Groco Spanner Wrenchdeck Plate Key Wrench is used specifically to tighten and loosen the lid of the GROCO Arg 750 series ¾” Raw Water strainer and Basket which is used on boats that require water to be received via a "through hull" design to prevent clogging of equipment (e.g. HVAC). This equipment is located in a confined space and the wrench provides the user with the means to secure the lid.
