If you don't connect this to a standard tripod, you may need to purchase an adapter. The piece with the release arm mounts to a standard tripod with a 3/8" thread. This was incompatible with my desk arm mount with 1/4" thread.Other than that, it seems sturdy and connected properly to my Smallrig M160 light.

I shoot weddings for a living and bought a bunch of these for all of my light stands. I use a mixture of hotshoe flashes and ad200's, and now I have these mounting plates on all of them so that I can quickly swap or install any of those lights on any of my states efficiently.Setup and teardown is faster without much added bulk. No more screwing flashes onto their crappy hotshoe mounts, just leave the hotshoe attached to a coldshoe on these mini quick release plates.If I wanted to put an ad200 on a stand that had a hotshoe bracket on it before, I'd have to swap the whole bracket out, which is not a huge deal, but still takes some time. Now all the lights mount to the same quick release plates. And if you're daring you can use one for your camera too if you want to use one of your lights stands as a ghetto tripod for the sake of convenience.There's no play in any of the mounts I got, they are rock solid.I did knock off one star and that is because one of the plates I received was either clearly used, or quality control was poor. There were damaged screw hole treads and the plate looked used with some sharp edges, that one also takes a lot more force to lock than the others. Clearly a returned item. the rest were new.

I use this to secure my mini audio interface to my light stand via a clamp adapter. Really easy to use.

Good shoe for the price.

I like this product, however it fits very tight. This can be a plus; however hard to dismount.

I wanted a small quick release for a point and shoot camera. I made a mistake in getting this one though because it has a 3/8 in tripod mount screw hole, in spite of the product description "with 1/4" Screw for Camera Tripod". I accept responsibility for my confusion. I was able to modify the hole with a dremal, and epoxy in a 1/4 in nut, so I was ultimately able to attach it to my tripod.

the locking spring broken in 2 weeks

I use this for my SmallHD 502 in my personal kit. I’ve definitely used better quick release plates but for my small monitor but when I use it on my magic arm on back of a dolly or stand it’s been fine. I definitely wouldn’t use it for anything much bigger then my 502, if you’re rigging a 702 or similar, don’t cheap out. Go for a Kondor Blue or similar quality.

Perfect product for securing Aquavu micro cam to helix ice shuttle via flex arm system. Easy on off! Worked great, excellent quality…but pricey

Using it for hollyland transmitter and product is well made, was even better with a bit of WD or gun oil so slide better.

These don't feel good at all and the quick release mechanism is really hard to release which also feels cheap. It won't last long so returned and bought the Kondor Blues which are much better than these. You can really feel the difference in quality.
