I decided I was so sick and tired of wasting my money on cheap plastic stuff that doesn't work properly that i scoured Amazon for hours looking for an all metal, heavy, professional type microscope that wouldn't break the bank and I'm so pleased to tell you that I found one. If you're a parent wanting a good solid microscope that's easy to use, look no further- this one is it! It reminds me of the microscopes we used in high school. I've had absolutely no problems with it and am quite frankly shocked that it cost what it did. Trust me you'll be happy you got it.

I have a Biology degree and was looking for a high quality, real microscope for my 6 year old who loves science. This one is excellent. The entire body is metal, it has a course and fine adjustment and 2 eye pieces to switch out the magnification. We could see the nuclei and cell membranes in tissue at 400x magnification. The details were clear and the adjustment knobs work very smoothly. I don't write reviews often but I was so happy with this purchase.

I sent the microscope to two different families, each with children around six years of age. This is the feedback I got: "The kids were just using the microscope tonight to look at a splinter. I don't know how you do it, but you give the kids the coolest gifts every year!" And from the other family: "We've had so much fun with it. We basically look at all of our food under it. What an awesome and thoughtful gift! (The father) told me to tell you that the microscope is the coolest gift ever."

We were glad that the company went and looked for my order to push it along as it would not have come in for Christmas. The scope itself is well constructed and will be used equally by our grandaughter in elementary level classes and our daughter, her mother, in college. It is simple enough for young scientists but advanced enough for the college level student. The accesory kit it comes with is useful and fairly complete. Only a few items needed to purchase seperately for a great set up!

My daughter received this microscope as a birthday gift from her grandma. It is a great starter microscope. It is better quality than the ones that I used in high school science growing up. For my daughter who dreams of being a doctor it was by far her favorite birthday present. When we got it one of the eye pieces had a scratch. I e-mailed JNK EDU to let them know. They replied within hours and had replaced the eye piece within a week. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in science or to homeschool families!
