After watching a YouTube video on how to hack a XWF filter to replace a XWFE, I figured I'd give it a try. I'm so happy I did, because it worked perfectly. Thanks to this hack, I bought this 3-pack for less than the price of a single XWFE. My recommendation is to find the hack on YouTube, and save yourself a lot of money. These filters are every bit as good as the XWFE, if not better.

Bought this one because it also takes out pharmaceuticals. Did the hack others have shown online. Removed the GE label with chip very carefully (heated with hairdryer first) using razor blade to lift edges. Tried sticking it to the back panel but got the ERR, placement was probably off. So put it on the Waterdrop in same position as on GE with 2 rubber bands. Tastes great, perfectly clear water.

Work very well

It's definitely cheaper than the genuine GE part. About $10 a filter. That's 80% saving!Water tastes fine. It leaves smell of water, but I haven't figured out if I like it yet.It tastes clean, but it tastes different.

Been using these for several years and saved a lot of $$$ over the GE supplied filters. These filters have the same specks and better than the GE they replace. Water tastes good. I use them for longer than recommended, but my water is pretty good regarding, clarity and taste.

These will NOT work with GSS23 UNLESS you get crafty and carefully remove the sticker that contains the chip from the original GE filter and install it in the back panel exactly behind where the filter goes. Otherwise you will the "Err" message and no water comes out.
