I’ve tried a few different brands of dried goji berries over the years, and these Viva Naturals Organic Dried Goji Berries (1 lb) are one of the better ones I’ve had. The berries are soft and chewy rather than overly dry, with a pleasant sweet-tart flavor that makes them easy to snack on by the handful. The berries look clean and well sorted with very few stems or broken pieces. The resealable pouch is also a nice touch because it keeps them fresh after opening. These goji berries are USDA organic, non-GMO, vegan, and gluten-free, which makes them a convenient snack for a variety of diets. Taste & Texture The flavor is mildly sweet with a slightly tangy finish. If you’ve never had goji berries before, the taste is somewhere between a cranberry and a raisin. They’re chewy but not tough, which I appreciate because some brands can be overly dry. Ways I’ve Used Them Goji berry tea (steeped in hot water for about 10 minutes) Tossed into oatmeal and yogurt Mixed into trail mix with nuts and dark chocolate Added to smoothies and baked goods They add a nice pop of color and flavor to breakfast bowls. Nutrition Goji berries are often considered a “superfood” because they contain nutrients like iron, fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Viva Naturals Minor Note The berries are naturally sticky, which is normal for dried fruit, but if you prefer a firmer texture you might want to store them in the fridge. Final Thoughts Overall, this is a solid, high-quality bag of organic goji berries. If you enjoy dried fruit snacks or want a nutritious addition to smoothies, oatmeal, or tea, this 1-lb bag offers good value and flavor. ⭐ Rating: 5/5 ✔ Good flavor and texture ✔ Organic and clean ingredients ✔ Versatile for tea, snacks, and baking

This is the second time I've purchased this bag. I like the quality of the goji berries, they are a little chewy and not hard kind of like drier dried cranberries. Great for smoothies or teas or even trail mix. The pink color is beautiful. I like that these are non-gmo and organic. The only bummer is the seal failed and I can't keep the bag closed so I transferred them to a mason jar, which actually looks lovely anyway:)

pros: I adore this product. I like to blend up a couple Tsps or Tbsps of gojis and coco nibs in a coffee grinder (separate from the coffee! You'll never filter it out without cheese cloth) and mix it into my morning coffee with a whisk. -Flavor! I'm so looking forward to baking with gojis -Delicious with ice cream (ben and jerries pistachio, kill me now) when frozen they have a fantastic crunch. -Only purchased one bag so far of this brand and I'm hoping they always come as dry as this bag; I bought truvibe's first and they were not as dry and so even stickier on the teeth and slightly harder to eat imo. cons: -They are delicious on their own as a snack but very sticky on the teeth, look out for sensitive filling, braces etc. -I tried re-hydrating them but ended up composting most of the batch, they're very slimy. -(the big grudge) The nutrition label claims there is around 60g of protein in this 1lb bag, maybe slightly more even, I don't have the bag in front of me. I don't believe that for a freaking second. 60g of protein is a half pound of steak! The FDA DOES NOT APPROVE NUTRITION LABELS! They issue recalls then and if they feel like it. Do your own research! Viva Labs, amend your label!!!!! I estimate that there is closer to 10-20 grams of protein in this 1 pound bag. Viva Labs sent me an email 5 days after I received the product offering to donate $10 to "Vitamin Angels, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing child mortality worldwide by providing children with essential vitamins and minerals" for every newly posted review (positive or negative I assume). I know nothing about this charity but it seems a fantastic offer if vitamin angels and viva labs do indeed follow through on their promises. I loved the product but probably wouldn't have taken the time out of my day to write as comprehensive as a review of this product, despite the fact that I am enjoying it at this very moment, without this soft of kind hearted offer. Even if that $10 donation is a lie, and I don't believe it is, or if every kid that my own $10 donation goes to dies of starvation despite this effort, I wanted to mention it because I believe it's a beautiful business model and you never know who you might inspire in the unlikeliness of venues.

⚠️Prop65 c_ncer and reproductive harm label defeats the purpose of taking these goji berries to be healthy. Imagine that! I was taking these berries in hot water as a tea for nearly a week until I read the whole back of the package and came across the P65 warning label at the bottom of the bag. I did not clearly see the warning when I purchased or I wouldn’t have bought it. Berry quality was okay. As a tea, taste was bland only a hint of sweetness but I was okay with that. At least it was organic. I’m very wary of products from China, this was the exception since from what I found online it’s where goji berries are grown in the Himalayas — however ⚠️warnings of c_ncer is a huge concern. Not even sure if I want to compost it it🥴
