I bought this remote to replace the one that came with my great Vizio TV because the volume controls stopped working. I was surprised that a virtually identical new remote was under $7. Better yet, it works with no programming (by the user) at all. Simply add a pair of AAA batteries and it's ready to go.For some reason it took a few mins for all funtions to start working properly and I was afraid it wasn't going to work with my particular TV. But I kept fiddling with it and within five minutes the volume and on/off, etc. were working fine. Does it self program? I don't know, but yep, it works fine. I can't believe how cheap it was and I think I'll buy an extra just to have. A bargain.

Worked fine for an older Vizio TV , non smart TV , should work fine for a smart one also. You do have to be facing straight on the TV , some side shots don’t work “ 10 - 15 degrees or so” move more in front and it works fine. That might be more of a problem of the TV not the remote .

I thought it was a dud but thankfully it works great!

The old remote is pictured on the left. The new Universal Remote is shown on the right.The original remote that came with my TV is flimsy and had to be cold reset a number of times when it quit working. I was always able to get it working again, but what a pain! I missed some cliffhangers doing this.This replacement remote is sturdy, has a better layout, and did not have to be programmed or configured. Just put batteries in and it works!It's a good value, and arrived next day.If you have to cold reset a remote, take the batteries out, wait 30 seconds, then press each button in turn. Put the batteries back in and give it a try. It may work again for a time. Mine did, for two weeks, then I had to reset it again. And then again...Just buy the remote!

Works well but small and hard to use your hand is large.
