I read this to my child’s 1st grade class. Age appropriate and all were engaged. A main phrase was repeated throughout the story, which kept the story building up and entertaining for that age group. Cute story for someone down in the dumps, that may need a pick me up.

Fantastic book! We read all the Pete the Cat books at school. Started with 'white shoes', then 'buttons' , 'saving christmas', 'New shoes', 'new guy' and ending our school year with 'the magic sunglasses'. To say that the children were engaged with the story/stories is an understatement. They took the character to their hearts and I used him to inspire their learning throughout the year (I also have the puppet). This book is amazing. The pictures are bright and colourful and has a really nice message about being brave and happy with what you have. We made our own sunglasses and wrote about what magic they may have. Well recommended.
