WTF! This thing is so awesome! LOVE IT! Works with AMP!
Ok so I have been super skeptical of plugging anything into my computer that comes out of my 100watt PEAVEY head, but I went ahead and tried it using the external port of the head. I am also kind of not that great with computers, but all I had to do was plug this thing in to the USB port on my laptop and into the back of the amp. From there I just had to right click on the sound settings where volume is located and click on "sounds" then "recording" to disable my computer's internal microphone. From there I set the device to be the microphone and it worked great with Audacity. It sounds super clear. The cord is long enough and it seems to be made good. I had nothing but a good experience with it. I love this thing! Totally worth the money and I wish I had thing this years ago! Also I thought I might point out that this will work with a guitar and no pedals or amp. Of course you won't have any effects unless you use a program. It also can be used like I said coming from the back of the amp and I was super scared about that not working. I suppose it also could be used with a guitar and effects pedals and no amp. And with keyboards. If you are trying to record you have to have this thing. I thought it was worth a shot to try it and I hope this helps some people figure out that it really works so that you guys can make some music!

Perfect.
Reason for purchase: Didn't want to hook my guitar up to 4-5 diff. pedals and then an amp in my room; Wanted to better hear what I was playing with the option of easily recording etc;Experience: One of my only impulsive buys lately, this cable was a great purchase. My plan was to use with headphones, however it seems that the headset output has a slight delay in incoming sound from the guitar, however this seems to be an issue with the headset, as it comes through my other audio output devices instantly. If you simply want to listen to this device through your monitor etc. simply right click on the Sound icon on your pc taskbar (bottom right), go to 'Sounds', click on the 'Recording' tab, right click on the input device that is the guitar (turn volume up on guitar and strum to easily identify), click properties, click on the 'Listen' tab, and toggle/check the 'Listen to this Device' box, and then select 'Apply'. (If guitar doesn't come through any of your output devices, follow instructions to 'Sounds' and under the 'Playback' tab, insure that the guitar itself isn't being recognized as the current output device - simply right click and disable if so)

Total Trash
This thing sucks. The one thing it has going for it is ease of use. The main problem is that using it immediately makes you want to stop using it.I bought it to use with my electric bass so I can make use of a virtual amp on my PC and also use it with a recording program. As I said above it's easy to use, literally plug and play. The programs I'm using even autodetected the input. Sound quality is anything but "quality." There's a constant static hiss of noise and even with the instrument output turned up it's barely audible over the noise. That being said I'm pretty sure that faint sound I get from the instrument is distorted and buzzy on its own.I hate this product and do not recommend it to anyone for any reason. I was hoping it would be a cheaper and usable, if less than amazing, alternative to a proper audio interface. It isn't. It's garbage. I'm going to spend a bit more and get a basic audio interface for fifty bucks instead.DO NOT BUY THIS.
