The last cat pee cleaner you will ever buy!!
I have 5 cats, and 2 of them are in a pee contest. When I tell you I have tried all of the pee cleaners, I really mean it. This is the only one that truly worked the first time on not only removing the smell but the stain. Yes it is pricey, but put it in a spray bottle and it will go a lot further.

The gift that kept on giving (and tips!)
We had an unfortunate incident while out of town— our pet sitter used the bathroom in our basement bedroom and didn’t close the door to the bedroom all the way. Three of my dogs went into the one room in the house with carpet to lay down and the fourth (and arguably dumbest, bless his heart) closed the door trying to get in with them. Pet sitter went on about her day (my dogs are pretty self sufficient with dog door, automatic feeder and infinite water supply) and fell asleep at her boyfriends blah blah blah long story short we’ll never be calling her again and my dogs were trapped in the basement for god knows how long. A golden retriever, a German shepherd and a Great Dane all with full bellies and a toilet that runs and runs and I’ll let you guess what we returned home to. Thankfully their digestive tracts went easy on us but you may recall me mentioning a toilet that runs…. I don’t know how many gallons of piss were produced but I can tell you I don’t wanna talk about it ever again after this review (and won’t have to thanks to the product in question!)First step was to get rid of the excess urine. Enter: carpet cleaning machine that will never look at me the same way again. Sucked up what I could and then misted some of the dried areas with plain water to get it to suck up again.I suggest for this next part you source some inexpensive white bath towels. I went to the local Wally World and picked up $60 of their $2.97 white towels for this job. Once you get the stickers off of them, toss them in the washer on just a rinse/spin cycle. Take the damp towels and throw them on the carpet and walk all over. For large areas, get creative but the intent here is to weigh down the towels so that they wick up whatever moisture is in the carpet. When the towels are yellow, you have soaked up the majority of the pee. Take those towels and throw them in the wash and wash with hot water and a little detergent— NO BLEACH (not yet). If the towels are absolutely atrocious you can bleach them but they must and I mean MUST be washed again with just plain water after. Bleach is not your friend here.Get a pump sprayer, and start spraying your spots. Soak them. I mean saturate the heck out of them. If you can’t get into the padding, grab one of those turkey injectors and go to town. I have a carpet brush that is for removing dog hair. It’s a silicon bristle on one end and a squeegee on the other. Spread it around, work it in. Now go get those freshly washed damp towels and cover every inch of treated area. Now wait. If the towels dry out, get some water in your sprayer and mist the top. Now wait some more. If it’s wet, the enzymes are doing their thing. If the towels get gross, rinse and repeat. Once the smell is gone, wash those towels real good and then cover again, this time applying pressure to suck up the rest of the cleaner. You can also do a hot water rinse with your carpet machine and cover with towels if it’s real bad.Now for the final and arguably most important step if you ever want your carpet to feel soft again. If you have ever used carpet cleaners, they are incredibly basic. As in the alkalinity of the cleaner is what gives it the ability to lift stains from the carpet. You know how bleach is extra slippery compared to water? Now you understand why your dried carpet feels crunchy and slippery. How do you neutralize it? Well the simple solution is a 50/50 mix of hot water and cleaning vinegar in your carpet machine. The acid will neutralize the cleaner and allow it to be sucked up from the carpet. The only downside to this is that the lime essence that this product will provide will now smell like a pickle factory, but don’t worry. The pickle smell will go away and you’ll have nice soft carpet. Oh, after the vinegar rinse…. Those towels you just cleaned get one more use. Let them soak up as much as that vinegar bath as possible. If you have older carpets it’s possible you’ll get what’s called browning— look for a product called a “Brown Out” on Amazon and that should help.Godspeed!

Car urine odor is gone!
The previous owner apparently used one of the closets for years as the kitty litter box. We tried everything to get the cat urine smell out of oak hardwood flooring and nothing worked. We gave this product a try and it worked with one treatment. It didn’t damage the hardwood and the cat urine smell is completely irradiated. The closet needed to air out for a couple of days after the application.

Don't give up yet!
We were ready to throw in the towel, so to speak, and have our carpet ripped out and replaced. Over the years we tried every carpet cleaner and magic solution to rid the nasty, gag worthy smell of dog urine. I realized we needed a way to get down into the padding and flooring underneath the carpet to get to the root of the problem. After looking into kitchen supplies for basters that inject marinades into meat all the way to automotive supplies, I finally stumbled upon an 8 oz plastic bottle with a syringe attached, which I found on Amazon. The bottle is part of an upholstery kit labelled "SCOE 10X, The Odor Eliminator", which costs between $12-$13. Yes, all you get is a kinda pricey empty plastic bottle with a syringe, but in the end it was worth every penny to us. I need to caution you to respect that needle on the top of the bottle b/c it's very, very sharp. It needs to be to get down into and through the carpet backing and onto the sub-floor. In our case we were dealing with a cement floor covered with wall-to-wall carpet. I have no idea if Biokleen Enzyme will damage hardwood floors, so I would test some solution first in an inconspicuous area. Here are the steps we took to get rid of the smell of old dog urine: It's helpful to use a black light to see how large of an area you're dealing with in the beginning of this urine smell process, ugh. If you have large areas, I found it's best to work in small section's at a time making sure to vacuum the carpet first. Pour some Bio Kleen enzyme into a garden mister and spray over the surface of the carpet until it's damp, then cover with a clean, dry towel. Weigh down towel with heavy books (wrap in foil or plastic bags if you don't want them damaged), garden paver's, etc. Wait approx. 24 hours, then remove the towel. You'll be surprised when you see exactly how much urine was absorbed into the towel after 24 hours! I soaked the soiled towel's in our wash tub with bleach and water, then rinse and hang to dry or throw in the clothes dryer. The next step is to inject the Bio Kleen into the pee spots using the SCOE 10X syringe bottle. Because you don't want to dull down the sharp tip of the syringe too quickly, I've found it's best to inject the carpet on an angle instead of straight up and down. Inject the solution around each stain down to the floor while squeezing the bottle into the padding. The scent of Bio Kleen isn't strong or offensive, l only detected a slight smell of lime. Be sure to look for an expiration date on the bottle because this solution is a "live enzyme". I realize this can be a time consuming process when dealing with urine odors, but it depends on whether or not it's worth saving your carpet. Even during the humid days of summer we no longer detect any foul urine smell, which is amazing compared to what we started out with. I keep a spray bottle filled with Biokleen along with the syringe bottle to handle any pee accident's that are still inevitable with our dog. I have not used this product on cat urine, but I have no reason to believe the same steps wouldn't work as well. I sincerely hope this process can help someone out, because this enzyme sure helped with our stinky situation!
