Please note that this magnet is not 100% neodynium; were that the case, this volume of metal -- if 100% neodynium -- would have a pull-force of something ridiculous, like 500kg.Fake?Well, THAT much pull-force would be unusable and possibly even dangerous.I will point-out the negatives of pure-neodynium magnets, in my experience: brittleness and corrosion.This magnet is not nearly so brittle, and it is very corrosion-resistant.I think that the construction is probably a set o 20-mm-ish neodymium disk magnets encased in a stainless-steel wrapping.While still being powerful (good for picking up screwdrivers lost out-of-reach in the engine-bay), it is not obscenely-ridiculously-powerful.Then again, sacrificing suprfluous overkill in the strength-department is a small price to pay for durability;I once "upgraded" to "real" (pure) neodynium magnets, and -- while impressed with the strength -- the brittleness and corrosion were a real pain, so much that I have since re-downgraded to this magnet.Large enough that you can get a grip on it enough to overpower its still-considerable stength,not britle, very corrosion-resistant -- as a garage-tool, this magnet is a lot more practical than most pure-neodynium magnets are.Still, if you're just out for max magnetic field-strength, then buyer beware; this magnet is clearly not 6 cubic inches of pure neodynium -- a fact that the lableing is not entirely clear about.
