ok sorry to say that I never did get to use these as a huge storm came before I had a chance to install and had to find out how good of homeowners insurance I have. Install as soon as possible !!!

Not for tying in 2 4x4's.
I gave this 3 stars, not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I was expecting this to fit on a 4x4 tying in with a 4x4. Instead it fits a 4x4 and ties in 2 - 2x4's.
