From blue to blue left to right, it's 16 3/4 inches. It's 20 1/4 inches between the two red turn knobs. From green to green top to bottom, it's 15 3/4 inches. It's 1 1/4 inches thick. This table top easel is awesome. I definitely recommend it!

Q: How is the chalkboard? Any trouble with chalk writing on the surface?

no problem with chalk writing, my grandson use often, but only problem is about the base(wood support) is not to be firm (steady)

Q: Is this sturdy enough to clip paper to it and use as an easel to paint? Are the magnets provided strong enough to hold up the paper?

Yes it is! We haven't used it for painting but have used the magnet to attach a piece of paper to the dry erase side so our two year old could color with crayons on it, and it works great!

Q: What can be used on the white board that can also be erased easily?

It's a dry erase side. We love it for car rides/road trips! Easily entertains our 3 year old for a while!
