Avatar, The Last Airbender: The Shadow of Kyoshi (Chronicles of the Avatar Book 2): An Adventurous Guide to Remembering What You Don't Want to Forget

I'm a huge Avatar fan and had a great time reading this book. The spirit of the TV show is captured well here and this sequel story is a fantastic follow up to "The Rise of Kyoshi".It's impressive that the narrative Yee weaves is not only rewarding but also leaves you wanting more. I really hope they continue this series, because it seems to me that there are many more great stories to be told and I would love to read them.What I enjoyed:1. The characters. Kyoshi and Rangi are just great.2. The story. It's a well written sequel, in that it not only ties up the lose ends from "The Rise of Kyoshi" but also expends on its themes and what it means to be a good Avatar in a world filled with corruption and ordinary flawed people.If you are an Avatar fan, I hope you give this series a chance! It's worth it! Yip! Yip!

After enjoying Rise of Kyoshi I was really looking forward to the sequel, set mainly in the Fire Nation and being able to read how the Nation was before the war. While I though it was good, the main issue I have with the book is that, unlike its predecessor, the story feels somewhat rushed and could have done with an extra 100 pages to make it a similar length to Rise of Kyoshi.Some aspects of the story feel brushed over, not being sufficient time to develop properly, which can be a shame when you may want to spend more time in the Fire Nation, for world building. However, like the first entry, I would still recommend this to any new or old Avatar: The Last Airbender fan who wants to know more about other Avatars.

A Kyoshi é uma protagonista super interessante, com todas suas conquistas, falhas e dilemas. Esse livro aborda mais o aspecto político, adentrando o contexto da Nação do Fogo em um momento de crise. Leitura essencial para os fãs de Avatar que gostariam de se aprofundar ainda mais na História e cultura desse universo.
