They made the product smaller and increased the price. From 300 calories to 230. From 20g of protein to 14g. No longer a customer.

When I tried these Garden of Life bars I was expecting the chalky pea taste and the usual hard sticky taffy texture that sticks in your teeth like most bars. Well, to my surprise these bars were nothing like that! They are very very good, the texture is kind of like a dense brownie, the taste is what I have had from the health food store, mostly carob which I always loved. They are just sweet enough naturally, not tacky artificial over sweet anything about them and no bad aftertaste. I don't have to carry a tooth brush to get black crap out of my teeth like most bars. These have a very thin chocolate coating that can get a bit melted if you carry these on your person but it's very little, they travel pretty well without a huge mess. It's a descent size bar and feels heavy in your hand, I found them quite satisfying. Great for a late night sweet craving without much sugar at only 8g and a good 20g of protein and even 10g of fiber! I eat them for breakfast and mid day snack too. I still can't believe the first 2 ingriedients are tapioca and organic pea protein, yet they taste really good! These are also soy free, gluten free and dairy free if that's important to you. These will be my new go to bar, great ingriedients that are organic and great taste win win! if you like the taste of carob you will love these bars.

The main failing of this bar is its chief virtue in my book. It does not taste super great so I am not tempted to overindulge like I would a more candy-like bar.THE GOOD: The grams of sugar are a lot less than grams of protein. No oils that promote inflammation. No soy. I prefer bars where the grams of protein are about 1 tenth the number of calories. At 20 grams of protein to 260 calories, this one comes closer than most.THE BAD: As noted above, the nonaddictive flavor is its one failing but one which I find desirable. If you want great taste then go for candy and buy a snickers bar.Update 11-4-20 Ordered a new batch from the vendor DEAL SPIN. They were on sale but all the bars arrived just a few days short of expiration! I always order these bars when on sale but they are always months from expiration. Good product, cheezy vendor.

Overall, I really enjoy these. The issue I have is that they are rather expensive for the amount you get. The ingredient quality is fantastic and the flavor is pretty good also but the cost is just a little bit higher than what I would imagine it could be. I know everything is expensive nowadays and especially for something organic, but Price sometimes makes me think twice and has me looking at other options. I have no problem with spending money, but I also recognize when things are just a tad bit over priced. Overall though, I think these are really good protein bars. They're pretty solid when you eat them so it takes a few moments to chill but it's pretty feeling and satisfying..

Lots of vitamins and minerals packed into these. The taste is good, too. Store them somewhere at room temperature though. Don't refrigerate them or they'll get super hard. Don't put them in your pocket or they'll melt.All that said, they're tasty, nutritious, and can fill you up.

Having tasted most protein bar offerings, Garden of Life *Performance* chocolate fudge is by Far my favorite: Great taste, sugar-free and is a complete protein. So naturally the company decides to discontinue it.
