This was very easy to use & great for the price. I needed some budget-friendly backpacking gear & this performed well - the water came through clear & I didn’t get sick after using it for a few days, so far it works great! Pretty easy to pack back into the bag, too. No need to splurge on a brand name

I drank water straight from the mountain fresh water creeks when camping. It takes a little time to pump a gallon thru the system but it really works well and durable. I recommend this item.

We used it for a 3 day backpacking trip, filtering a total of somewhere around 30L of water. The filter worked fine in terms of filtering performance. The water tasted fine and nobody got sick. But 3 things stand out: 1) the part that goes underwater won't stay there. It likes to float up and suck air. You need three hands to operate this thing. 2) the hoses are too short - making it more difficult to operate, particularly in moving water, 3) after about 6L of filtering it got really slow. The last few liters were torture. We were filtering very clear water, so I don't think it should have been clogging. I tried to figure out some sort of backflushing method but could not. I did figure out how to get a massive arm workout, for every liter pumped. I think it took about 150 pumps to filter 2.5L. Every pump was a workout. Imagine filling 4 peoples' water bladders! BEWARE if you will depend on this thing for water for several people or several days.
