A Game-Changer for Oily Hair and Build-Up
Size: The 12 fl oz bottle is a great value. It’s slim enough to store easily in the shower, but lasts a while—even with regular use—since a little goes a long way.Functionality: It lathers up quickly and rinses out clean without any leftover residue. The pointed tip makes it easy to apply directly to the scalp for a deep clean. Great for those who use a lot of hair products or dry shampoo throughout the week.Pain Relief: Not designed as a medicated product, but it definitely helped relieve that itchy, heavy feeling that comes with oil and product build-up. My scalp feels fresher and less irritated after every wash.Relaxation: The pink grapefruit scent is so refreshing and energizing without being overpowering. It makes my morning showers feel like a little spa moment. The clean feeling afterward is also super satisfying.Strength: It’s gentle but highly effective. I’ve noticed significantly less oil at the roots and my hair stays fresher for longer between washes. It exfoliates without stripping my scalp or drying out my ends. Bonus: It’s color-safe and doesn’t fade dyed hair.Color: The shampoo itself is a pretty, light pink—matches the grapefruit theme. The clear bottle also makes it easy to see how much is left.Final thoughts: This shampoo lives up to its promise. It clarifies without being harsh, smells amazing, and leaves both my hair and scalp feeling truly clean. Perfect for oily scalps, product build-up, or just a weekly detox. Highly recommend adding it to your hair care routine!

Best cleansing Shampoo for hair with frequent buildup
This is a great shampoo to use once or twice a week. Cleans the scalp and hair well while leaving hair soft and silky. Highly recommended!

Nothing works like Nutrogena !
It works wonders on oily hair. I also use the conditioner. It gives body to my hair and I don't have to wash my hair frequently like I used to do.!!!!! The two together work Miracles.

Great shampoo for eczema sufferers
I bought this shampoo on the recommendation of my dermatologist. Following development of eczema, I began reacting to every haircare product I had used for years. This has worked very well, my hair is clean and feels amazing. Fresh smell of pink grapefruit (one of the ingredients is pink grapefruit). I love it.

Smells like grapefruit, cleans well, product too thick to work into scalp easily
I love this product's fragrance but wish it wasn't such a pain to work it into a lather and onto your scalp. The gel is a clear kinda pinkish color like the color of the bottle. The easiest way to lather is to dispense gobs of the stuff, 2-3 times more than your average shampoo. I tried really hard to use a more typical amount but had great difficulty getting any shampoo onto my scalp. I had to use more shampoo than I expected and often I had to lather three times to get my scalp clean.I finished the bottle but didn't notice any damage to my hair. But I just gave up on it. Neutrogena has just gone to town pumping this product with gel.Comparison of clarifying shampoos - I usually use these every 3-4 days with dry shampoo in-between. All of the shampoos left my scalp in similarly clean condition but some required extra lathering. I rarely use conditioner but when I did, I used the Redken Acidic Bonding Conditioner the mate to the Redken shampoo. For most of these shampoos, I used "a palmful" of shampoo to get enough lather down on the scalp. The Redken required a dime sized drop. A palmful is easily 4x but probably closer to 5-6x a dime sized drop.Neutragena clarifying shampoo.- lovely grapefruit scent. This shampoo was startlingly thick but even with a palmful, I had a difficult time lathering. Working the shampoo down to the scalp was not easy. I often ended up adding more shampoo to the roots or lathering 3x. Ultimately, it was a hassle and I gave up on it. Didn't cause significant damage (1-2 inch ends snapping off) with only one bottle. One bottle lasted about 5-6 weeks.VO5 clarifying shampoo - same trick as Neutragena, a very thick gel. Requires a full palmful to work it into the scalp. Usually I have to lather up three times to clean the scalp. It only costs $1.25 from the Dollar store but being forced to use such large amounts obviously drives the cost up by at least 4x. This shampoo dried out my hair and 1-2 inch pieces started to snap off halfway through the bottle. One bottle lasts about 5-6 weeks. I've concluded this shampoo is also too much work to bother with. One bottle lasted about 5-6 weeks.Suave clarfying shampoo - this shampoo cost me $2 bucks plus some change from Target. It too has a thick gel-like consistency but there's more detergent. It lathers up easily with a palmful of shampoo and can clean the scalp consistently with only two lathers. This shampoo does damage the hair but it takes longer than the VO5. One bottle usually lasts about 2 months or a bit more.Aveeno clarifying shine and shampoo - thick gel-like consistency but with enough detergent that it lathers up easily. Unfortunately, it seems to have a lot less cleaning power than any of the other shampoos. It's leaving a residue on my scalp. I've checked this by using the Suave 2x, then the Aveeno 1x. There is definitely something on my scalp after this. My scalp gets oilier much faster anytime I use the Aveeno. Since the whole point of using a clarifying shampoos is to clean my scalp to the max, I don't see any point to using the Aveeno. It's probably best for someone who has dry hair and wants to wash products out.Redken Acidic Concentrate Shampoo - a white gel, on the thinner side compared to the other shampoos. Easier to work into a lather and onto the scalp. Very concentrated, use only a dime sized drop. Most of the other shampoos "a palmful" is easily 4x but more likely 5-6x a dime sized drop. Cleans scalp lathering 2x. Does not damage the hair even after 6-9 months of continuous use. Half of a 33 oz bottles lasts 6-9 months.Of the low-cost shampoos Suave stands out. The price comparison between Suave puts it ahead of Aveeno and Neutragena because they are clearly more expensive per use. Both cost more and you get less per bottle. The Redken stands alone ahead of all the competition. The price per bottle also stands ahead of the competition at about $65. Adjusted for amount of shampoo per use, if we divide by 4, the effective price of the Redken is dropping rapidly to $16 for equivalent usage. The bottle is also 33.8 oz significantly larger than all the rest. The Suave is the next largest bottle at 22.5 oz. The Aveeno is 12 oz. I'm not even going to try for any kind of mathematical accuracy and just say that Redken has 50% more so the price for similar # of uses is about $10. Using these seriously back of the envelope estimates, it's starting to look like the highest performance, highest price bottle may be only a few bucks higher than the Aveeno or Neutragena for the same number of shampoos. At this point, I quit. No more experiments, I'll stick with the Redken.*****One of the classic scams is to act like a responsible seller... at first... build up a customer base (gather many stars), then yank the rug out from under you. Looks like there's a lot of this going on. I've started checking the lastest reviews to make sure the seller remains honest.

It works. Smells bad
It does the job… I wouldn’t use more than once every few weeks. It’s pretty drying to the hair… I wouldn’t purchase again. I don’t like the smell.
