Using 2 of these for exhaust fans on a 4u rackmount server. I now hear my quiet cpu fans over these. Changed the case from "You'll be able to hear it when you are dead", to "I can't hear it in the next room with the door open".

Fan arrived on time in pristine condition. Works great but not as "Ultra Silent" as I was led to believe. It is not loud but not "Ultra Silent" either. You can hear the slight rattling as the fan is on. Nevertheless, glad I got a case fan. Along with the fan from my PSU and the CPU fan, the additional case fan make my computer feel like a very cool airconditioned unit.

Quiet and moves a lot of air for the size

Ich habe den Lüfter etwas Zweckentfremdet. Zumindest aus der Sicht der meisten Käufer eines solchen Lüfters.Aber nicht nur ein PC hat einen Lüfter, sondern auch andere Geräte. In meinem Fall war das ein Wechselrichter der Marke Fronius. Wenn der arbeitet, dann wird er so richtig warm (eher sogar heiß). Da ein Wechselrichter für harte Umgebungen gebaut wird (z.B. für einen nicht isolierten Dachboden oder an einer sonnigen Hauswand), muss der originale Lüfter ein entsprechendes Monster sein. Leider ist es das auch und Monster sind nun mal nicht gerade leise. In anderen Worten: Der original Lüfter meines Wechselrichters ist viiiiiiel zu laut (entsprechende Infos findet man auch im Photovoltaikforum).Da der Wechselrichter bei mir ein einem recht kühlen Kellerraum hängt, habe ich mich getraut den original Lüfter gegen diesen hier zu ersetzten, auch wenn der Luftdurchsatz um einiges geringer ist. Da es aber bei mir durch die kalte Kellerluft sicher nicht nötig ist, die maximale Luftmenge durch den Wechselrichter zu pusten, sollte das kein Problem sein.Und was soll ich sagen ... ich bin begeistert. Der noiseblocker Multiframe M8-S3 ist um Welten leiser und verrichtet seine Arbeit ohne jegliche Probleme. Wenn die Sonne so richtig auf meine PV brennt, dann muss der Wechselrichter richtig viel tun und wird ordentlich warm (vermutlich wärmer als ein normaler PC). Da bläst der noiseblocker geschätzt mit 80% Leistung. Da kann man ihn schon wahrnehmen. Doch das ist kein Vergleich zu dem was ich vorher hatte. Sobald die Sonne gegen 13-14 Uhr wieder weniger wird und dadurch der Wechselrichter nicht mehr ganz so heiß wird, schaltet der Lüfter zurück und wird dadurch fast unhörbar. Ich könnte heulen vor Glück, denn der original Lüfter ist mir ziemlich auf den Zeiger gegangen.Ich kann den Lüfter nur empfehlen, wenn man unbedingt auf 80 mm angewiesen ist. Natürlich wären 120 mm besser, da er für die gleiche Luftmenge weniger Umdrehungen brauchen würde und somit leiser wäre. Aber wenn es bauartbedingt nicht anders geht, denn ist der noiseblocker eine gute Wahl.
