The remote features never worked.
This never worked properly. I bought it to connect to a Smartthings hub with the Z-Wave protocol, and I could never connect the radio properly, and when itI did connect, none of the Z-Wave features worked. My old thermostat would use two AA batteries every two-three years (it was powered by the cables in back), THIS thermostat eats 3 AA batteries every 3 weeks. At first I thought it might be the Z-Wave radio always trying to connect, but I finally pulled the radio card from the thermostat and it STILL ate 3 batteries every three weeks. Total waste of time as a remote control thermostat.I give it one star as it *does* work as a thermostat, but poorly, wastefully and without all of it's advertised features. I went back to my old programmable thermostat.

Thumbs up
I haven't used any of the features yet, and I may never. It works just fine as a simple thermostat. I like the touchscreen. I mostly got this model because it hooks up to my home alarm system...and I like the idea of being able to connect them, as well as be able to program temperatures for different times of day, days of week, etc. Maybe the next people who buy my house will be more tech conscience and actually use the features. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it's kind of big and bulky and the interface isn't that user-friendly.

Setup was easy though it does take some time to connect it ...
Works as expected. Setup was easy though it does take some time to connect it to network as thermostat goes to sleep during intializaiton.

It's easy to slide out of the side and then slide ...
It gets the job done. I paired this with a Veralite controller and sometimes.... about once every month or so, I have to remove the zwave module and plug it back in to get it to work right. It's easy to slide out of the side and then slide it back in and that's the only reason I haven't just gotten another thermostat. I bought this because of the price point, so I still think it's worth purchasing. Also, I realize that my experience may not be the same as others as there could be something else going on with my z-wave network that is causing this to happen. Either way, I'm sticking with it for now.

It works.... kinda, sorta...
It works... kinda, sorta... first, it does claim that it works from batteries( as opposed to c-wire) - and to be fair, it does work - but when running on batteries it will drain a set within a few days. Literally, every 2-4 days you need new batteries. I finally had enough and wired up a transformer/relay (because allowing it to run from a wall-wart is apparently a no-no in thermostat world, but that is a thermostat issue in general). The new setup successfully got power to the thermostat, while also destroying the one big advantage of the millivolt system - ability to function without electricity. If power goes out, now I will have a working thermostat, but not a working heater. So now I have not had to replace batteries in over a week - victory!! (worth mentioning that it still WANTS the batteries, for some bizarro reason, even though it no longer able to function on batteries) But now it drops communication between it and the SmartThings Hub every 5-6 hours. I can click on the menu and get it to "mate" (reconnect), but SmartThings cannot talk to it until that is done, meaning it is mostly useless. Oddly that seemed much more stable when we ran on batteries...I guess you get what you pay for, but at least now it is all wired up for a real thermostat when I buy it :-(

A Z-Wave thermostat without the ability to use Z-wave....not worth the time or money
This product is not worth the time. First one I got had a broken Z-Wave radio, couldn't even connect it to the network. The seller was kind enough to send a replacement out at no cost to me, which took another 3 weeks, but the second one wasn't any better. It would connect to my network, but outside of receiving the initial temperature and operation mode, it:1. Would never notify the controller of manual changes in the mode or the temperature2. Would not accept any commands from the controller. All I get is ERROR: Dropping command, expected response not received after 1 attempt(s), however the node would acknowledge itself in a reasonable time. I went as far as moving my controller right next to the thermostat, yet still no luck.Basically, this thermostat was no better than the dumb old thermostat it replaced. If you are getting this for Z-Wave, save your money for one of the newer models or get a WiFi model.

Read instructions first
First - if your Thermostat is going through batteries every few weeks, it's because you didn't READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! This Thermostat requires the "C" wire (24v AC) to be connected. My only complaint is the thermostat doesn't seem to want to turn my fan on. Fan works fine with AC or heat, but will not come on by itself.I am using 2 CT-30 and 2 CT-100 on a 4 zone system, the thermostats are connected to my zone controller and it is connected to my HVAC unit.

I like these
I bought the wrong one and had to return it because my system doesn't work with zwave. But I have this very unit in zigbee and I love it. Actually I have 3 of them. They work great and have nice features. Of course if you have a good software to control them, then you will really like these. Make sure you can use zwave!
