Exactly As Illustrated
Fits great for my tablet which is 12.9” Gen 3. The clips that go around the edges of your tablet can rotate to fit at a 45 degree angle or 90 degree which is a great design. Just dont forget to remove the magnetic clipboard or else you’ll scratch your tablet screen when you close the knee board. Also I recommend getting a screen protector anyway because the edge clips to keep the tablet in place feel a bit metallic and probably will scratch the edges of the screen with repeated use. Highly recommended!

Great finish but lousy stability
I loved the premium leather finish, but the turning mechanism broke in a bumpy flight, so I have to trash this $200 kneepad now.Other improvement potentials:1. The aluminum plate falls off all the time as it is not properly fixed to the kneepad2. There is no way to fix paper sheets to the kneepad, so you by default need a second one for the map, approach charts and the notepad3. And you need to fold out the cover to use the iPad, so the kneepad has the size of 2 iPads 11". Very large on your knee considering the cover has no use and interferes with your second kneepad. The holding clip also covers half of the on/off button, but there is probably no better way to fix the iPad.

Totally inadequate
The iPad is held in place to the kneeboard with a small button like clip, which is totally inadequate for the job. With normal cockpit movement (rudder pedals nets !) the device kept coming loose from the kb.Totally innefectual and useless.

Extremely functional and high quality kneeboard.
As a pilot who has tried numerous kneeboards and ipad kneeboards I can say that hands down this is the best kneeboard I've ever used in the cockpit. The magnets on the metal clip work great and make it really easy to go from looking at the ipad to closing the case and just using the clip. Some things when you hold them just feel well made and this fits the bill. It's got the heavy duty long velcro that you know is going to last forever, strong magnets, and nice leather. It might seem like a menial thing but as someone who is replacing a kneeboard that is a little under a year old that has velcro that no longer grips whatsoever I can tell you that it does make a difference. If you are a flight instructor or someone who uses a kneeboard quite often I would strongly recommend spending the extra money on this.Just a heads up a fellow flight instructor had the pro version and I was torn between the two. Seeing his kneeboard is what got me interested in this brand and I was originally going to buy the pro, but I realized that there is no way to put the ipad in landscape mode with that kneeboard. This is a problem for me as I wear polarized sunglasses that black out the ipad's screen when it's in portrait mode. This one actually allows you to turn the ipad and it's currently quite a bit cheaper. Another reviewer complained about it not coming with paper... I'm not sure I understand the problem however, I can assure you that it's paper chart friendly.

Works great
For me, the large size has never been an issue. I elected to fly with a giant iPad, and this does a great job of keeping it accessible. I've flown with this for about 100 hours now and have never felt like yoke control was impeded.
