Updated review. Lasted just short of 4 months under normal use before the chrome cap and threads that retain the worm stripped and now the item is useless. Warranty of 30 days from the seller. Did not meet expectations; seems you get what you pay for after all.Excellent replacement for our previous Screwpull opener which was over 15 years old. Amazingly, this cost about 1/6 of what that one did back then. Expect it will serve us well. Love it!

The foil cutter broke at the bend the first time using it. What a cheep accessory to add to a decent wine opener. I am very disappointed with the set. Yes the opener opens good but why put a cheep cutter??? They are lucky to get TWO stars from me.

Total falsehood and meaningless. There is no contact information for the "Manufacturer" (or found on internet). Fortunately Amazon executed a refund. Do not buy. Avoid.

It didn't work. I need to return it. It was far from easy to use and it would be better if instructions came with the box rather than in an email.It broke as an employee of ours was trying to use it.

The one I received was cheaply manufactured. The pin holding the handle in place was loose, and either fell out or jammed the handle in the open position. Managed to open two bottles with it - both times the corkscrew was driven down between the cork and the bottle neck. This shredded the cork and left cork pieces floating in the wine. Sent it back.Updated review. Seller contacted me after my initial review and product return. They were apologetic for the apparently defective unit, and sent me a complimentary replacement. I waited until I opened a dozen bottles before amending this review. The replacement opener works much better than the original - in fact it is one of the smoothest openers I have used and requires less effort than most of the rabbit style openers I have used. Had I received this unit initially, rather than the defective one, I would have rated this opener 5 stars.

First the foil cutter broke after one use and then the opener broke after 3 uses. The corkscrew is embedded in the inside of the opener and is now totally useless. Since the return window has closed already, I have no options but to throw it away.

So, yes, the actual corkscrew works as it should: push down, pull up. But the damn think is sold with an accessory foil cutter that looks really nifty, until it falls apart--literally-- in your hand.I'd hate to be the person giving this as a gift. Because regardless how nice the corkscrew may be, their first impression is going to be disillusionment at best.So, buyer beware.

overall, rather disappointed with this opener. not even 6 months in, I've already had to use the replacement cork screw and frankly I am sometimes scared that it will again push the cork into the bottle. Also, even the new cork screw, will periodically not come out of the cork! I'll definitely buy a different one next time!
