These placemats are durable and the images are beautiful fun. I have several sets of placemats by Pimpernel and the animal set is of the same top quality as my previous sets. Pimpernel placemats have thicker cork and a more durable top layer. They hold up and still look new 30 years later. I purchased a set of lemon design cork back placemats last summer from Amazon made by a different brand thinking they would be of similar quality for half the price. I was so disappointed. The lemon off brand placemats were thin and the top piece looked worn after a year of use. So this spring I knew it was well worth the money to buy what I actually wanted. Just opening the packaging reinforced why the few extra dollars is worth it.

These are perfect for the table in our family room where we have lots of wildlife prints, wooden ducks, etc. everyone compliments me.

These are really nice placemats. Easy to clean, nice weight. I took off one star because they smelled pretty strongly of glue out of the box. Not a good thing for something that sits close to you on your dining table.

Bought 8 for my self and my daughter loved it so we got her a set of 8 for next Christmas, they are lovely! She will be pleased.
