A tasty lentil meal in five minutes.
If you like lentil dahl then this kit comes in a batch, thereby lowering the price per unit. In each pack you get aromatic seeds to cook in a splash of oil for a few minutes. Then you add the lentils and a dash of water to soften them up, then finally the secret dahl sauce. After a few minutes in a wok or pot this delicious meal is ready to eat. You can bulk the meal out for two by adding some microwaved rice to double the quantity.

Contains SUGAR. Not mentioned in products ingredients list on the Amazon website. Each pack contains 2.5 grams which can temporarily impair the function of white blood cells. The addition of this ingredient should be highlighted as it contributes to inflammation in the human body.

Not like my local takeaway Dhansak
I was hoping to replicate the Dhanask I get from my local Indian takeaway - this was more like a Chinese style curry - am going to add lentils and vegetables to my next one (I have 4 more attempts at it as bought 5)

Great value, plenty of taste and easy to prepare

Excellent Dhansak Sauce
I thought the sauce was really nice. Comes mild, so if you like it hotter add a chille or 2, as I did. Also need to add some lentils, but I guess not essential. You can cook a meal in 10 mins, or if you follow the tailored can cook longer.Over all it was a really nice meal.

Not quite what I expected
I'm no expert on Asian food but I usually have a Dhansak curry when I go out for an Indian meal. It is usually quite consistent wherever I go so I bought these to cook at home. However, they don't taste like the Dhansak I am used to and I found them a bit bland. That said some of the other offerings from The Spice Tailor are very good.
