So this is the first time buying from woodpeckers and the quality is much higher the then other wheels you get in stores and from other vendors. I would recommend using them.

These are pretty good wheels overall. I had carved three cars for my grandson and ordered the 12 pack of wheels. Well, wouldn't you know that only 11 of the wheels were good. So I had to go back and order 12 more so I can replace the 'bad' wheel.I would have ordered more wheels originally, as I plan to make some more cars... but the 12 pack was delivered the next day... while the larger packages "usually ships in 6 - 10 days". I think they could sell more wheels if the expedited shipping was available in the larger packs.The (good) wheels themselves are made pretty good. I stained them black and then sanded smooth for a nice effect. The 'axles' that are sold to go along with the wheels are undersized a bit. There is way too much play between the wheel hub and the axle. As you can see in the photo I chopped up a drinking straw to use as a sort of 'membrane'... not only does it tighten the fit some... it also makes the wheel rotate more smoothly.Overall, I would recommend the product with the caveat that you might want to order more than you anticipate using... since you can anticipate that quality control isn't quite up to snuff.

A little paint and they look fairly real

I have started to make some kid toys - as in cars and trucks. These wheels are fantastic! Each and every one, is just like the other! I did not have any wheel that I could not use.The details are very nice, and make for a much more interesting effect on the toy. There are thin lines for the treads in the wheels, and some very nice details on the side walls as well.Although I found a number of different sites where these wheels could be purchased though, I found this seller to have a very competitive price. They also have a number of other bits and bobs (British for "a lot of different parts" that might make your next model more complete.This is one of those sellers that I will go to for other parts I might need for future toys. They seem like good people who care. (I got a little note in the bag - I like that!) Shipping was way too fast - I was amazed! These guys are in the US and I am in Canada. And my order was getting very close to Christmas! Still, it came faster than the site estimated it would. I am very impressed!Purchased with my own money. Thanks!

Meets expectations

Apparently quality control left one faulty tire slip by and I was unlucky enough to find it in my purchase of 12 tires. As a hobby I make wooden model tractor trailer 18 wheelers. I needed 12 more to finish my new project but ended up with 11 and a flat. Hopefully the Woodpeckers Company can compensate me for this unfortunate incident. Just looking for a replacement to get my present project back on schedule.Thank you for any response.Gord
