Olympus om-d mark lll--recommendation for a small close up nature lens for a beginner? maybe two lenses?

vastly superior the Olympus 60 mm lens is the best ... and has been used as a walk-around lens often (because it has no perspective distortion but you must get pretty far away to capture a human!)

Trying to mount and unmount certain lenses has been difficult. almost too tight to turn. never had this issue on em-1 series cameras. anyone else?

I’ve not had difficulties, but with non original brand lenses (not Olympus), that can be a problem with many camera bodies.

Is sony alpha lens compatible using an adapter

You can mount a Sony A mount Alpha DSLR lens to work manually on a Micro 4/3 mount with an adapter, however you cannot mount an E mount lens to a micro 4/3 mount.

Do lenses for the e-m10 work with the e-m5?

Yes. All Olympus and Panasonic lenses for micro four thirds (mft) camera bodies will work with the em5 mkiii and the em10.
