I am interested in getting the new samsung 55" js9000 curved tv. will this mount be correct for this unit? thank you

You will have to use the spacers we provide to get the brackets off the back of the TV, but other than that the installation is pretty straightforward. I am very concerned about the TV looking like it sticks out too far when fully recessed. Can anyone comment on this concern?

Do the tv brackets lock onto the wallplate or do they just hang there?

My exterior wall has studs 24" on Center. Will this mount work?

Unbeknownst to me, I had the same problem. I wanted to mount a new TV in my bedroom on the wall over a bureau, but it turned out that the 48-in wall space only had one double stud in the middle (the bedroom is mostly timer-framed). So I screwed 2 1x6-inch oak boards to th studs at each end of the wall and the double stud in the middle. It works well and is very solid. I was able to use the bracket's center to screw an extra long screw into the middle and then regular (not drywall) screws through the last openings on the bracket and into the boards. While I could have returned it since i made  istake assuming I had a normal wall, I just didn't feel confident with the single-stud wall plates on some mounts. This is super strong and the oak boards match the trim in the room.
