Damage Report is a modular, 2-6 player, simultaneous, real-time, co-operative game where the players take on the role of a starship crew faced with making split-second decisions to survive while in the midst of various crisis and catastrophes. Unlike many co-operative games, the simultaneous, real-time nature of the game helps prevent 'groupthink'. This forces players to make decisions with minimal feedback and prevents one player from simply running the show. You never have to wait for other players to take their turn, and your turn is only limited to what you can accomplish in 15-, 30-, 45- or 60-second intervals. Each player uses a timer to keep track of their time, moving the timer down a track based upon how long their turn interval is. In most scenarios, the turn interval is based upon the Life Support system status: the more damaged the system is, the less air the player has to "breathe." Each action is extended, as it takes more time to complete their turns. Scenarios are designed to last no more than 45 minutes. If players do not succeed in this time... something bad happens. Damage Report's modular board pieces ensure a brand new experience with each game scenario. Each scenario has its own success and failure conditions. The Standard Edition of the game includes five scenarios. For future expansions, we are working on creating campaign scenarios that follow a specific ship along its path, with the scenarios played being influenced by each outcome of success or failure.

Fun real time coop game
Fun real time coop game, trying to fix the ship before you get pulled into the sun. Fixing the ship requires parts and tools that the players have to bring to the various locations. Each player keeps track of their own timer to dictate their movements and everyone takes actions at once. The amount of time you have to wait between actions is based on the life support on the ship and your character. Lots of variation in ship design and a randomized set of damages means solid replayability.

Good fast paced game
Great coop game! Doesn't fall into group think; no time. Lots of fun; we felt free to add a few rules to tailor it to our family, and it's worked out great!

Quite simply one of the best cooperative games ever made
This is a game that had to have been created because someone decided to take on the challenge of creating a cooperative boardgame that playing it gave you more exercise then if you went to the gym. The game is this: You are a team of space explorers on a ship for some reason depending on the scenario. Something bad happens to start the game. You and your crew have exactly 30, 45, 60 etc, minutes to fix the problem, period. No turn waiting, no long discussions deciding what to do next, and no player left out because you won't have time to alienate players. Oh and that one bad thing is now causing a cascade of other failures as the game goes on making things worse and leading to have team members devote time to fix those failures to prevent making it even harder to win the game. As a result you are constantly moving your pices, moving around the game board trying to communicate with your team etc. As the clock ticks down, your heart rate ticks up. And at the end of the allocated time you will know if you won or loss instantly. No checking objects or win conditions. Simply put "Did you fix or escape what caused the disaster in the first place? Oh and for 60+ dollars your getting good quality hard cardboard pieces. Just be aware that means the box has some weight to it.

But I was glad I did
I accidentally demo'd this game at Gen Con 2014, after signing up for it thinking it was something else. But I was glad I did! It was actually one of the funnest games I've played lately. The theme is great. Damage Report really gives you a stylized, colorful, "Star Trek" or "FTL" vibe. It's fast-paced, humorous, fairly easy to learn (I'd give it a "4" on a scale of 1-10 for complexity), and very re-playable. I found the components to be top notch! The card is thick, and the crystals and tools are colorful and hefty, and have a nice tactile presence. You can get your friends who haven't played it before up and running in 5 or 10 minutes (although I find there's always one person who doesn't "get" how the sand timer works at first). There is a great deal of luck involved, as a few bad damage report card draws can send you downhill fast. But, then with this sort of game, co-operative chaos management is sort of the whole point. Figure on spending 20 minutes for set up and teaching the game, plus exactly 45 minutes to play.In short, I'd highly recommend this game. It's a fairly regular staple of our Sunday game night, especially when we need something whimsical and co-operative to let off some steam. One of our other game night regulars has also liked it enough to buy his own copy. But be forewarned, after playing this game, you may spend several days yelling "Damage Report!" every time you hear a buzzer of any kind.

Save the ship!
I bought this game not from Amazon but will buy it again for gifts. I love this game it's fun and fast at most only 45 minutes. Your trying to repair a ship by working together. As a group you all have actions at the same time. In a three person game the timer goes off every 3 minutes where you flip over a damage report card that shows your stats. Within the next three minutes your trying to resolve the damage to keep the shop aloft. Your ships have storage compartments that hold resources as a tip put a rubber band around the cardboard compartments for added stability they are a slot fitted so they lie flat in the box but the rubber band just helps but not required. What can I say if you have never played a real time game play this one. If you like group cooperative games this game is just awesome.

Different, Fast-Paced, No Sitting & Waiting
I demo'd this game at GenCon last year, and it's very different than anything I've played before. It all happens so fast because everyone is taking their turns simultaneously based on a real-world timer. It's very fast paced; anyone who hates waiting for others to finish up their turns will love this.

Amazing Real time game!
Box is over 5 ponds of awesome fun! 5 scenarios in the box, and includes sand timers, a digital timer, and a really easy to understand rule book. I played the same scenario 5 times trying to win, and then to get a better time. My gaming group loves it!
