As a PT student, I cannot recommend Dutton enough.
As the title implies, I am very happy with this textbook. Dutton details (seemingly) every pathology for every aspect of the musculoskeletal system there is. He goes through exam techniques, details interventions, and adds his own clinical opinions. There are many illustrations and tables to compliment the texts, too.The only gripe I have is that there is basically NO goniometry material within this book. I find it very odd, since ROM measurements are such a large part of a PT exam. My classmates and I had to purchase an additional text solely for that aspect (Measurement of Joint Motion, by C. Norkin and D. White--solid text, no complaints). And after said purchase, I somewhat understand why Dutton did not included it; the goni information alone would have increased the text by 1/3 or so. Still, I find this to be a flaw. Though, note that I still gave it 5 stars, demonstrating my pleasure with it otherwise.Cheers!

Dutton's Orthopaedic Examination Evaluation and Intervention
My hobby and passion is medicine and even though I am not a physical therapy student or practitioner, this book is of great interest to me. The in-depth detail provided in each aspect of the examination, evaluation and intervention, accompanied by the various illustrations result in a formidable learning tool to help understand certain ailments that afflict people and to assess some of the proposed treatments. I am extremely satisfied in the purchase of this book.

Complete & authoritative
I bought this book when I noticed many of the new grads around me use it and spoke highly of it. It is much more comprehensive than the text I had back in school, and is clearly indexed for reference. This makes it a handy tool when you just want look up that one test or detail.

No Pages
It is not so much the content of the book I am rating, but the fact that I have no page numbers on my e-book pages, only locations. This does not help me when I have to synchronize with my online class. The pages need to be printed. I don't care much about the location.Sorry.

It's called editing
Although this book present the information in a logical manner, the information given contradicts itself throughout the book. Multiple editing and grammar errors can be found. For example, when looking at a figure of the medial ankle ligaments, the tibia and fibula are transposed. Last time I checked, the fibula was the lateral bone of the lower leg! Metatarsals are commonly confused with metacarpals. Paragraphs are repeated needlessly within the same chapter. Capsular patterns and open-packed and closed-pack positions vary depending on which chapter you find them in. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK to be used in physical therapy programs
