The Malazan world is unforgettable. And Gardens of the Moons starts off this epic series in a morass of twisting intrigues and deadly street fights. Not a style for everyone, but it is one of my favorite fantasy books and my second favorite fantasy series. So take a look, read a bit. If you like awe inspiring epic tales, give it a go.

This is the first of a series of books that redefines the fantasy genre. It is excedingly well written and displays astounding world building.

My son received a copy of this book as a gift. He was really getting into the story around page 300 when the book started over at the beginning. He basically received two copies of the first half of the book! We had to buy him a replacement copy because we were on vacation. And we were out of luck because we missed the Amazon return window by three days. Not a great experience on this one, though the fault was not the author's, it was the publisher's.
