Terrific dive computer
All in all, a terrific dive computer.BEWARE: When I purchased this, the transmitter was not included. I wrote the vendor an e-mail explaining that and they said they would fix the Amazon description. The price has gone up ~$200 since I purchased it, so maybe the transmitter is included now, you'll probably want to verify that.Good:- Probably one of the best dive computers out there, just Google for reviews on it.- Wireless and tangle-free (now that I have the transmitter).- Very intuitive and easy to use.- Very well made and sturdy.- Dive logs are easy to review and graphical. With the Mares software, lots of capability to make your dive logs useful.- No issues with the transmitter. It shuts off if less than ~100 PSI to save battery.Bad:- Minor: unit is big on the wrist compared to other wristwatch-sized computers.- Minor: requires charging each day. After 4 dives, the battery was 65-70% at full color (also, it enters a low-power mode at ~20%, see the manual).- Minor: neoprene spacer broke after 5 dives (need to re-sew it).

Mares Icon HD: Great concept, poorly executed
Icon HD is infamous for it’s hideously designed charging connector. To compound the problem, changing the needlessly proprietary battery is difficult at best, leaving me with a dark, useless wrist anchor. Spending big bucks for what seemed to be top-of-the-line turned out to be a financial bust, and big disappointment in the Mares brand.Don’t get me wrong, it’s absolutely wonderful….when it works. Not the best statement for a dive computer.

Overall a solid dive computer
I have now 58 dives with this computer and it has not failed yet. The tank pressure transmitter failed once, but Mares replaced it.Pros: Probably the most intuitive interface of all dive computers that I have ever seem, it is really easy to navigate. The main display is clear and easy to understand, with alarm messages that do not need to be decoded. Going down or up fast? "Slow down". Going up or down too fast? "Uncontrolled ascent/descent". Safety stop? "Safety stop" and a count down. Big screen with big numbers/letters, so the old folks can read! Color display You can access all your dives from the dive computer and easily read all the information about them. Wireless tank pressure transmitter Compared to other similar dive computers, the price is not bad for what you getCons: Big, bulky and heavy, I can't use this like I would use a watch The battery is rechargeable, but you have to send to Mares to replace it. I have been using it for 3 years and so far I have not replaced the it. To transfer the dives to my iPhone, I have to first transfer to the laptop via USB cable using the Mares software, then I transfer to a 3rd Party software "Dive log" and then using Wi-Fi I transfer to the iPhone...long process! It would be nice if it had Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi. No GPS to record the dive location The USB connector to charge/transfer the dives has four pins that you have to align with the four contacts on the back of the computer. Not exactly well engineered, but not the end of the world either While on the surface with direct sunlight, the display might be hard to readOther thoughts: I don't think that any of the "Cons" are a major impediment, just annoying.

Awesome Computer
The computer is simply awesome. The best I've had in ten years. Easy to access functions. Intuitive. Easy to read underwater. Good algorithm. Only trouble was syncing the air transmitter. Took quite a few tries.

A truly terrible piece of technology from an otherwise great company
A truly terrible piece of technology from an otherwise great company. I went through 3 of these before finally giving up. The first one died after a handful of dives and it took a lot of fussing to get it back. The second one had a gross malfunction (reading 50' when we were down much deeper-- fortunately I was wearing a second computer) and I had to argue with the reps who maintained I was somehow making an error. The third one worked for another handful of dives, but refused to recharge after I didn't use it for a couple of months. It's big, bulky, and flashy, but riddled with design flaws (getting the charger to connect requires surgical skill and you are warned that incorrectly attaching the charger can short out the computer). The included software is hard to use (and didn't like my Apple, although this was hopefully solved).. Serves me right for going with a flashy computer.I've been diving for a very long time and dive regularly (more than 100 per year) in a variety of environments. I've used a variety of computers, but when my beloved Aladin died after more than 500 dives, I gave in and got this unfortunate instrument. I've always loves Mares fins, masks, wetsuits-- and was stunned by just how bad an experience this was.

Pain in the tail to charge, but otherwise a great computer.
I have had mine for a few years,, and I like that it's big and well lit. easy to read and interpret underwater. The AI is a great asset, but since I also dive with a backup console, it really didn't free up any hoses. The worst thing about it is the charging method. As with many others, that 4 pin thing just sucks to get aligned. Since this is no longer offered by Mares on their website, I have to assume that this computer has been discontinued in favor of the Genius, which looks exactly the same. It makes me wonder if the changing/data download method has also been updated.

Online Scuba and Mares rock..
Purchased this excellent piece of diving equipment from "Online Scuba " , on my first outing the transponder went out, had to purchase new transponder, "Online Scuba contacted Mares and got my refund, even at out of Country prices. Just want to say that I purchased this for its great quality, but after Mares stepped it up, would recommend no other. Thank you Online Scuba and Mares.

Best dive computer by far!
Best investment for a dive computer. Very easily read in dark, cloudy water. Functionality is very simple especially with thick gloves (large buttons). Contoured for comfort and a secure fit.

Ottimo computer, ottimo prezzo
Non male no?
