Roger Moore is the enigmatic 007 in this stunt-laden adventure that pits Bond against a twisted German industrialist (Christopher Walken) and his sexy partner-in-crime (Grace Jones).

One Of The Best Roger Moore Bond Films, Walken/Jones Sell their Villain Roles Perfectly, Good Watch!
View To A Kill is probably the best of the Roger Moore Bond movies and his last. I like that some of the themes were very forward looking like microchip integration into living things or the effects of a nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) on solidi state electronics. This is one of the least gadget focused Bond movies. While Roger Moore isn't one of my most favorite bond actors is isn't too bad. His style and this movie was a bit camp and tongue in cheek in places. I have always enjoyed how Bond films have that comedy subtext to the action.Christopher Walken as the evil Zorin and Grace Jones as Zorin's deadly side kick May Day. I was amused to see Patrick Macnee (who I met once and is known for his role as John Steed.in The Avengers) playing Sir Godfrey Tibbett; kind of a Bond sidekick. Patrick Bauchau has a key supporting role as Zorin's head of security.I don't want to get into plot details and be a spoiler. I'll just say that Walken definitely sells his villain role. No one can quite play psychotic like him. I first noticed him in The Deer Hunter and he never fails to amuse me. His and Grace Jones contribution to the film is pretty significant.I like A View To A Kill and think it is one of, if not the best of his Bond movies. Walken and Jones carry their twisted part very well too. I think this hits enough in plot, action, humor, good actors and that inherent quality that makes a Bond movie for me to comfortable say it's 5 stars to me.

the most fun you'll have with Roger Moore as 007
A View to a Kill isn't a good film...it's a FUN film. would an undercover agent use his real name while on assignment? no. would said undercover also not use any sort of disguise? of course a real undercover secret agent would change his name and appearance. but not James Bond, because it's freakin James Bond.Christopher Walker is outstanding as the bond villain who doesn't quite understand the concept of killing your mark when you have him right in front of you. in quintessential Bond villain fashion, Walken devises roundabout booby traps that act as an obstacle course rather than a fatal action.Grace Jones is a nice touch as Walken's muscle.it's all very 80s, very over-the-top ridiculous, and thoroughly enjoyable. pulp fun at its Hollywood James Bond best. i can watch this offering over and over. RIP Roger Moore, a gentleman and a true artist.

Great Farewell For Roger!
I have recently started to rewatch Bond movies. I watched them when I was a kid but don't remember all of them. I believe I saw more Connery ones. This is the sixth Roger Moore Bond movie I have seen and I thought it was awesome. I had read it got terrible reviews and was the weakest Bond in the series. I also read how people thought Roger was too old at 58 for this part. We all get old unfortunately and Roger still was a great actor and gave one of his best performances. Roger still has it and this movie has everything a Bond movie needs. It had great action and an interesting story. Christopher Walken played a great villain and was one of the strong points of the movie. Grace Jones adds to the movie in a great supporting role. Tanya Roberts wasn't the best Bond girl but she wasn't the worst. She did okay. The movie starts out a little slow but picks up. The last third of this movie was so awesome. It had a great ending that was exciting that kept me on the edge of my seat. I thought it was an underrated Bond movie and a overlooked performance by Moore. It was a great way to go out and I was glad Roger came back for another Bond. It was a lot of fun watching this knowing it was his last movie as Bond. I wasn't disappointed. Of the six Moore Bond movies I've seen this is probably fourth best of the six I've seen. My favorite Moore Bonds in order are The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, Live and Let Die, A View to Kill, The Man with the Golden Gun, and Moonraker. Cheers and enjoy!

bond visits major landmarks
The blu-ray transfer is first rate and loaded with extras.I am a fan of all the Roger Moore Bonds. All 7 Moore entries are exciting escapist Bond adventures. This film,Moore's last as Bond, is no exception. In this 1985, 14th entry in the Eon series, Bond does battle on not one but two major international structural landmarks - the Eiffel Tower in Paris and San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. This film is the oldest portrayal of Bond on screen. Moore was 57 during filming, and was replaced with the much younger Timothy Dalton (40-41) for the next film. The smooth Moore wit is very much in place. Christopher Walken is both quirky and menacing as villain Max Zorin. Tanya Roberts of both Charlie's Angels and Sheena fame, stars as lead Bond-girl, Stacey Sutton. Duran Duran handles the title song. John Glen directs his 3rd of 5 straight Bond assignments. Good Bond fun, especially the opening ski chase, and the San Francisco firetruck pursuit. Other notable performances include TV's John Steed, Patrick MacNee as a fellow British agent and popstar Grace Jones as Zorin henchwoman, Mayday. Watch for a brief cameo as well from the unknown at the time, Dolf Lundgren. Hint, we see Dolf during the Zorin/Gogol showdown at the racetrack.
