Works well
I tried a fancier, more expensive ruler, but this one does the job for less. I set it on my rotary cutting mat, then marked onto the mat how big of a square of foundation to cut, then cut the foundation diagonally into two triangles. Then I used the ruler as is for the kite. For example, if you want the large sized kite, then set the top of that size on the ruler flush with the corner of your mat. Then mark the place where the point hits. Then turn the ruler around so that you have the point on that same line you just made, but the opposite direction. You'll see that you need to cut your interfacing into 10 and five eighths inch squares. Then cut those squares into triangles.

I wanted to make some star table mats and this was the perfect solution. You can make 3 different sizes with this ruler so its well worth the money

One ruler, two different star designs.
This Marty Mitchell kite shaped ruler has different uses. I used it to make patriotic mug rugs (coasters) for my daughters, and they got several compliments about how cute they were. You can use them with the narrow ends together for one star design, and you can turn the ruler around and put the wider ends together to make a totally different star.

Good quality ruler for rotary cutting fabric.
Nice thickness. Clear legible lines. However, I did not use it. I returned it because it was not the angle I was looking for.
