This are long time, favorite, now obscure films that have amazingly been given a new HD BluRay release. I was doubtful that it was actually a higher resolution version when I first saw it here on Amazon. I feared it was just the SD version upscaled or simply a mislabeled DVD release, especially since the description says it is anamorphic DVD.I took the chance and ordered a copy. If it was a real, higher resolution transfer, I wanted it. Yes, after viewing the disc, this IS indeed a marked improvement over the DVD's.The new Bluray presents the films in 16:9 aspect ratio, just as in the DVD's. Film was originally 4:3 aspect. I have uploaded screen caps of a 4:3 SD broadcast, DVD version, and the new Bluray showing the same scene. This Bluray release is definitely a higher resolution than the DVD, albeit (like the DVD) top and bottom of frame is cropped to make the film 16:9. Film shows its age and is at times over-sharpened, but overall image quality is quite good for a 1970's film without a full restoration.Really happy someone decided to release an HD versions of these two films. Upgrade to this bluray version, if you love these two films.

This is a wonderful transfer. Clean crisp sound and a clear video presentation. Nice to have both of the movies together in the same package! The amazing stories are based on true events. These are truly terrific movies to enjoy over and over!
