I’m a serious cookbook collector. I’m a serious cook and in all the years of cooking Italian food this brand is by far and away the golf standard. My sauce is famous amongst friends and family and I always used Pope brand of tomatoes but they are nowhere to be found. Several years ago I went to an Italian place to eat and had a dish with the most heavenly sauce. I asked the owner what kind of tomatoes. He gave me a can as a gift. Sounds unbelievable but he really did. By far the best canned tomatoes on the planet. No other brand compares. I think I could talk about these cans all day. If you use them i guarantee you will not go back to any other. Truth. They are outstanding. You can throw in a little sugary paste. Some garlic and basil and eat it like soup. Without pasta or meat or anything. It’s almost sinful it’s that good

These are first rate tomatoes. They have a lovely sweet flavor which works well when the tomato flavor is in the fore. There is no perfect tomato for every dish but these work across a wide variety of them. One of my cans arrived in perfect condition, one with a large dent in the top rim. I just opened it from the bottom instead.

I used this excellent Stanislaus product in my restaurant. When I closed the restaurant, I was unable to purchase as they are only sold to restaurants. I was excited when I saw they ere available through Amazon. Unfortunately, they arrived badly damaged and totally unusable. Very disappointed.
