Effective, durable, easy to use and store
When you’re raking leaves (or similar yard materials) and trying to put them into a bag (whether paper or plastic), one perpetual struggle is how to keep the bag in a such a state that (1) the raked leaves are easy to insert and (2) the bag doesn’t collapse and spill the its contents back onto the yard. Over 26 rears of homeownership and 40-plus years of leaf raking, I’ve tried a lot of different products and systems. The earliest method was simply me holding a plastic lawn bag open while my dad dropped rake loads of leaves between my outstretched arms. The problem was that required two people and led to dirty, scratched up arms. The next method was a wire X-frame that held a plastic bag open and upright. The problems were that the bag would sometimes slip off the frame and spill its contents and that the bag, once filled, was difficult to remove from the frame, often resulting in spilled leaves. The next method was a stiff plastic sheet that you’d roll into a cylinder and insert into the bag. The only problem was that the cylinder was unstable at the bottom and would tip or blow over from time to time but, for a long time, that was my go-to method and it’s still the one I use when filling a plastic lawn ‘n’ leaf bag. A few years ago, in an attempt to introduce less toxic plastic into the environment, I switched to using paper yard waste bags. Like plastic yard waste bags, the issue with paper bags is keeping them open and upright while you’re trying to fill them. This product, the Lawn and Leaf Chute, is a very elegant and effective system. I’ve used it with 30 gallon yard waste bags from my local hardware store for the past three seasons and have uncovered no shortfalls or issues. Once the chute is inserted correctly (which takes a minute to learn but is simple to repeat afterward), the bag is stable, easy to fill, and easy to move from place to place. Once the bag is filled, it’s easy to lift the chute out. The chute, when folded up, is flat, takes up little room, and stores easily. I’ve seen some reviews question its durability and describe it as being made of “plasticized cardboard.” Have no worries: it’s made of the same kind of corrugated plastic you see in those mail collection bins used by the US Postal Service. Those things are nearly indestructible and this product seems the same.

Works well
I seen this it Facebook and bought it on Amazon. I really like this item the quality is very good. It's coated, I don't know what kind of material it's made out of but it's very sturdy. I'm sure if you look on the description of the item it'll tell you what material it is made of. It performed very well kept the bag open while I put leaves inside. The size is perfect to fit in your bags and it's easy to lay flat to store or you can fold it in threes and store it. It's very easy to use, they have a video on the website to show you how to use it. The quality is very good.

AWESOME!!!
So the first one that was shipped was not shipped in a box, and it was already torn when it arrived. I returned it, and the next one was delivered in a box and in good condition. The function of it is beyond wonderful!!! I fought with 5 bags with my front lawn. In comparison, after receiving this wonderful tool, the 4 bags for my backyard, this thing was AWESOME!!! It holds the bag open so nicely, and I can shovel in the leaves so easily!!! I would have given it 5 stars except for the sturdiness of it, as others have noted. Since I didn't want it to rip, I don't even bend it like the instructions say. I only open the 2 sides, and it works like a dream!!! Since it is fragile, I have, as a prevention, used packing tape to both sides of the back where the bend is, and I believe it will last a long time. If it does not last, I'm sure duck tape will do the trick. I wish I'd found this a long time ago!!!

worthwhile gadget if you have a lot of leaves.
This seemed to be one of those gadgets that is invented on a reality show, pushed to big box stores and then everyone buys it because it's there. I've seen these before at Home Depot but when I tried to get them late October in store, for the same price ($19.99), they were all gone because both the stores in my town needed space for Christmas decorations. The item is made out of corrugated plastic, identical to what the white plastic boxes mail carriers use (polypropylene resin). So, it's got some strength but is also very lightweight and folds up so you can store it in your shed or basement once done. I have small house but a ton of leaves because the neighbors trees dump them all on my yard, so anything to compress and speed-up leaf disposal is a help. I went from bagging by hand, to using a combination of a mower and blower/vac. That solved the space issue and I reduced the number of bags needed by 50-66%. My weak link was still where to put them, and I'm usually without help. I have some trash barrels but I wind up with over 30 full (compressed), so you have to turn to bags that the city picks up. Biggest issue always was them falling down when pouring in and not having some type of scoop when pouring from the bag on the vac or the catcher on the mower. This solved it. It's easy to put into a bag, unfold so it has structure and in addition, has a scoop at the top. Even when not in leaf season, if you need to fill one of the lawn waste bags with something, the scoop alone helps a lot from getting stuff all over your driveway.
